I look forward to the "DENARD ROBINSON IS NOT A STARTING RUNNING BACK" thread with the lead sentence, sorry for not drinking the teal kool aid.
I think its funny how the slowby lovers want DRob to fail. The toby hate stems from all of us believing the hype then being let down by him being the worst starter in the nfl. He isnt losin sleep over the fans turning on him. He is PAID. He doesnt run with power, he doesn't have moves and he is slower than our FB. He proved already that he is a waste of carries. Let our young guys play and develop. I think we draft a RB next year regardless of if DRob proves to be an every down back.

No one wants DRob to fail, we want both of them to succeed. What we don't care for is the ridiculous amount of crap being shoveled at Gerhart who's played about  8 plays healthy this year, and all of those were behind a line that couldn't help DRob, Todman or Johnson run successfully either. The "whipping boy" mentality by some on this board is absurd in its depth.
Toby's business is between the tackles with a Fullback in front of him. The stretches, tosses and draws are pretty bad for him.

If that's the case, he's not an every down back.

Agreed, especially the bold part.

That may be and I think the coaches realize that.

I think for the most part the board has been better about rooting for everyone on the team and not just throwing blame at particular players. For some it's deserved but overall I think we pull for whoever is on the field.

I agree.  Just because you point out concerns with a players abilities doesn't mean you want him to fail.  As a Jag fan I want Gerhart to come back and show he can be the featured back on this team for years to come.
I just think TG has ridiculously less upside then our younger backs. DRob has only had had one big time game and he still needs to prove he can be the feature back and up to this point he deserves more playing time to prove it. We were fooled and half the fanbase holds out hope that they weren't fooled. The 5 yrd per carry veteran RB wit low mileage that we ALL believed would be an upgrade over MJD has been a major disappointment..... Maybe we have jus been so spoiled as a franchise wit great RBs that we have no patience for mediocrity at the position. It would be great if he turned it around but at this point he hasnt given any signs that he will. At what point do the excuses stop. Hes injured, the oline cant block....... Its eerily similar to gabberts excuses

Weren't you the same one that said Toby impresses you and that Denard hasn't shown anything even after only 3 attempts in 2 games?
DRob is clearly better than Slowby also.

Clearly but slowbys mom wont let us talk about it
Hmmm all the idiots doubting him.  When healthy this guy is a beast.  He has been running over people the past couple of weeks.

I think over the past couple weeks Gerhart's shown enough to have him and Denard split the carries next season. Short of Gurley or Melvin Gordon really falling, I don't see us picking up another RB next season.
Meh, I want to see real competition at the RB spot next offseason, and that entails a drafting a young, mid-round guy who can push both Toby and Denard, while also being ready to play if those guys get hurt, which they both have this season.

Don't get me wrong, I love what Jordan Todman brings to this team, but I'm not one to believe he could be a multi-week lead rusher if needed. I definitely don't feel that way about Storm Johnson; he dances way too much behind the line.
I just don't see it.  He's a good rotational guy, but he was playing against the WORST run d in the league.  The Jaguars, and especially, BB need a RB who is a threat everytime he touches the ball.  Slowby is not that guy.  That's what a number 1 RB provides.

neither slowby nor "denied robinson" is the answer

the answer is  the draft

You're right.  I believed in him when he was signed but had started to doubt his overall ability (even though I realized he was injured).  In Minnesota the guy looked fast and capable (maybe not scat back fast, but that's not the kind of player he is).  He has looked pretty good.  The problem is, he seems to get hurt every time out and that may be his Achilles Heel.
Toby is overpaid for his production.  Ok as a rotational guy, but definitely not a feature back.

This draft is deep at RB so I would hope the Jags pick up someone to be the that 15-20 touch guy.
