Whether we should win this game or not depends on several factors:

1. Denard Robinson runs 100+ yards.

2. Blake Bortles corrects his mistakes.

3. Telvin Smith gets more playing time.

4. Andre Branch is not missed on DL.

5. We still have less than five injuries.

It is much easier to say if we can win this game. ANY GIVEN SUNDAY. But I am hoping somebody can bail out J.T.Thomas because he has huge shoes to fill.

This one could be difficult for the Jags. Dolphins are currently ranked #4 defense and #12 offense.

Any given Sunday I know, but BB is going to have to play better than he did against the gowns and eliminate those int's. storm and the o-line will have to be playing at the level they did this past Sunday. Defense will have to have another lights out performance like they did as well. If that happens then they could walk away with another W. It's certainly doable.

Edit: DRob, idk why I said storm.

Denard, not Storm. There has been no controversy over whether #16 or #34 should start that I know about.

I am confident in everybody on defense except the middle linebacker and free safety for obvious reasons.

Yes, I noticed that after I posted. I'm not sure why I said Storm. I edited the post. Thanks.

I think after last week they roll with DRob.
If the rabid frothing at the mouth Jaguars show up Sunday that I saw last week, this will be a win, you could literally see the light bulbs come on one by one one the field and then it became a feeding frenzy, if the o-line plays like last week and continues to gel that drug we all got a taste of will be back coursing through our veins, Come On Jags I Need My Fix!

Interesting note: only 3 home teams lost last weekend. Or at least, I believe it was only three. Home field helps especially if the crowd can help out and make some noise.

Btw, nice pic, lol

They were the Bears (Dolphins), Chargers (Chiefs), and Raiders (Cardinals).

Unfortunately whenever I see a pool shot, nobody in it is yelling. It would be nice if those people join everybody with a regular seat and scream their heads off.

I saw some nice tail in the pool shots, so I forgive them for not yelling.
If I was game planning for the Jaguars, I would try to exploit Miami's LBs by designing plays to get the TE on them 1 on 1. On Defense you must get pressure rushing 4.

Quote:If they want to beat our defense they're going to take shots down the field.  Over the middle at the linebacker level is where we get killed a lot.  Depending on how much Telvin Smith is in the game that may change a little but he would be on the weak side of the defensive formation.

This is a our primary weakness.  The middle of the field deep is always open.  But I think we saw the solution starting in the 2nd half of the t'acks game and of course against the clowns.

The D-Line is playing lights out and really have been playing that way since week 1.   But the big difference I see is that when our CBs play up on the WRs, and we bring an extra rusher in obvious passing situations, we are much more successful.  A young QB like Hoyer got rattled by our pressure which caused him to be in-accurate on some of his throws to wide open receivers.  But I think you also have to give credit to Babich for getting out of that soft zone stuff our secondary has been running.  We need to stay that aggressive on the D to cover up our weakness in the deep middle of the field.

When the revievers have to fight off the line of scrimmage it breaks up thier timing a little bit and they don't hit the spots the QB thinks they will be in.  On top of that when we blitz, it makes the QB react quicker.  The quicker reaction time needed during a blitz on top of playing press coverage on the WRs made a big difference this week and to a certain extent last week.

If we see more of this, we very well could rattle Tannehill as well.
Now the big question: Who do you think will win? I think we will, but because of Poz, it will be closer than the Browns game.

JT thomas probably only has to fill a size 12 or 13. Not the biggest shoes in the world.

Those are still big shoes.

Is he the right size for a middle linebacker?

It's pretty unrealistic to think that Blake Bortles is going to miraculously stop being a rookie in the span of one week.  I like Bortles, I think he will be a good QB, but right now he's struggling and pressing, and that's a bad combination.  Miami doesn't have the best ball hawking defensive backfield in football, but we're good against quarterbacks who don't take care of the football.

I saw someone predict 28 points for Jacksonville.  Given how your offense is playing, and how historically bad rookie quarterbacks are at putting points on the board, you're going to need multiple defensive or special teams scores to match that effort.  It's therefore fortunate that the Miami Dolphins are A) prone to fumbling the football, and B. have been terrible on kick and punt coverage this season.

Miami opened up the season playing poorly due to a combination of new scheme, missing multiple key starters, and bad matchups.  Jacksonville honestly does not represent a particularly bad matchup for Miami, and the team is finally relatively healthy for once.  I understand that the Poz was not the best linebacker in coverage, but if you're weak in the middle, the Dolphins' running game will be a problem.  Miami has run the football very effectively in 5 out of 6 games, with the one bad performance coming against Buffalo's elite front four.

I try to be pretty realistic.  I believe Miami is a much better team than Jacksonville at this point in time, and should win the game by 10+ points.  However, I believe it will be a low-scoring affair (21-10ish), and that Jacksonville absolutely has the chance to pull out a win on special teams or by scoring defensively.  It is also worth pointing out that Joe Philbin may be the worst coach in the National Football League, and routinely makes decisions that are absolutely baffling.  He flat out cost Miami the game against Green Bay, and also made some absolutely terrible game management decisions against Buffalo.

Finally, I'll add that even if you guys get blown out this week, you should not feel bad about it.  Miami has looked like a legitimate playoff contender in four out of six games, and the advanced stats back that up.  Football Outsiders has Miami as the 10th best team in the NFL in total team DVOA, while Jacksonville is ranked 31st.  I know that a lot of Dolphins fans are going to be making the trip up to Jacksonville, so that will also somewhat mitigate your homefield advantage.

In summary, hope for a Jarvis Landry muffed punt, another Mike Wallace fumble, and more of Miami's atrocious kicking game to be exploited.  Your head coach is better than our head coach, too, so that's another factor to consider.

The Dolphins, like a lot of teams in the NFL, are so unpredictable from week to week.

One week really good and the next week, dead fish and a QB controversy. Last week there were real good, but who knows this week.

The Jags have been pretty consistent for the last few weeks, with a bit of a breakout game against the Browns, except for BB unfortunately.

The game will be decided by which teams show up on Sunday.

You just don't know which Dolphin team will show up, the good one or the bad one.

Luckily for the Jags, they don't have a great HC on the sidelines, and a very up and down QB.

It will be fun to play the Dolphins again, especially at the Bank.
Welcome to the board, Dolphins fan. Thank you for your analysis. I understand Joe Philbin has been heavily criticized all year but don't forget the Raiders fired their coach after the blowout in London.

The problem with Paul Posluszny is he can't play. We put him on IR Monday because he tore a pectoral muscle. Regardless of how bad he is in coverage, it will be very hard to replace him.

I know Blake Bortles can't suddenly stop making all mistakes. Even Peyton Manning screws up sometimes. But he is a quick learner and very coachable, so I expect him to play better against Miami.

When talking about how our offense is playing, you can't look at the first three games. Chad Henne was the starter right tackle Austin Pasztor was out, and we were still figuring out who the starters on defense should be. Now our roster and depth chart are much better, rookies have a little experience, and WR/PR Ace Sanders is back from a four-game suspension.

Our biggest weakness on defense is free safety. Ryan Tannehill should throw a lot of deep passes in the direction of Josh Evans. But he needs to avoid targeting SS Jonathan Cyprien.

I can see the Jaguars defense having some success although without Poz there may be some big play opportunities for the Dolphins. What really concerns me though is their #4 ranked defense. Yeah the Jaguars finally got their offense going late in the second quarter last week, however, they were playing the #29 ranked defense. I fear the Jaguars only real shot at a win is if the defense scores a couple TDs.
