4 years 38 million? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Quote:I told y'all so....
What exactly did you tell "y'all", cookie? That an analyst who didn't bother to include this year in his analysis says he's worth $37.8 million? Give me a break. When the dust settles on his new deal, wherever that may be, it won't be in that realm based on his injury history. As talented as he may be, if he's not on the field, he's not helping anyone. Other teams will recognize this as well.
Even if that was the deal, it's not some blockbuster contract. I think he winds up somewhere in the $7-8 million range per year in any new deal. Load it up with incentives and if he is able to stay on the field and produce, that number goes up.

I told you Shorts would be seeking the above kinda deal. (similar to Decker's)
Thats what. Now it looks like its coming true.
You all said he'd only get a deal similar to Baldwin of Seattle, LOL!!! haha.
The ONLY other option that I think could happen would be for Shorts to choose to take a Jeremy Maclin type 1 year "show me" deal, if he doesn't get the Decker type deal this offseason.
If Shorts really wants a deal in that area, let him walk. No sense in paying a guy that much for him to play 8 games a year. "That's what you have to pay for a good #2 receiver!" Okay... But Shorts isn't a proven #2 guy. From his perspective, however, especially as an injury prone player, I'd totally test the market. I'll bet you someone will overpay in that range for him, honestly. Just hope its not us. In fact, I hope we target another receiver very early in the draft next year (like Amari Cooper). Build around Blake.
Why so much, not like he'll play the whole season.
I'd give him 4 years 20 million. 10 guaranteed only if he plays every single game left in the season.
