Quote:Look for me at Sunday's game when I streak on the field to sack Henne. The Colts won't be the only one's getting their hands on him.
If any security guard gets in your way, sign him up for our o-line.
Quote:Would it be inappropriate to boo Gus Bradley when Henne takes the field? Never mind I know what 50% of you are going to say.
Really? Two games in the rebuilding year, no playoff expectations and some are ready to boo before the game starts?

Stay yer [BLEEP] at home. Thankfully its not nationally televised. Not only would the team be a laughing stock, but the fans as well

Fixed for you.
Quote:You may actually be a latent NASCAR fan.  From what I understand of it many NASCAR fans watch the races so they can see the wrecks.  If you wish to go to this game solely because Henne will be the man under center behind our current line then you are definitely going just to see the pending disaster.

On the other hand if you have not been to the stadium since they did the remodel I highly recommend it.  The view of the new screens from your average seat is about like the view you get of a 60" TV from 10 feet away.  It really is impressive and when things do come together for this team it will be a spectacular venue to watch them in.  As for myself, I will be there because I have tickets.  I can't guarantee that I will be in my seat if the game get;s away from us though.  Both endzones now have places where it will probably be cooler than my seat in addition to the NFL Redzone on TV screens.
I do love some NASCAR wrecks! Part of me is also thinking there's no way Henne can survive another 10 sack game and I may get to witness BB5's first time in a real game. My wife is in the Jaguars Women's Club so she's been to the stadium and I haven't yet. I also love sporting my custom made Jaguar print Chuck Taylors around. Last time I wore them was the home game last year with Houston. Come to think of it have we won a game since then?
If the goal of not playing Blake is to help him improve his game will sitting him behind Chad actually do that?  Certainly Rodgers benefited from sitting behind Favre.  Rivers was probably helped out by sitting behind Brees.  So yes, I understand what they are thinking in wanting to sit him.  My question is does anyone in this organization actually equate what he can learn from Henne to what those men were able to learn from the likes of Favre and Brees? Heck, I would even understand it (and in fact I supported it as recently as last week) if Chad were playing good football and Blake was watching a functional offense to learn from.

The reality is that the offense is not functional.  I understand that 100% of the dysfunction can't be put on Chad but a number of sacks yesterday were due to Chad not throwing to the hot route or throwing away.  So our potential franchise QB is learning from someone who is not playing the position very well at the moment.  So why would you not want to give him a chance?  Yes, he might get hit if he can't get the ball out.  If it appears that he is going to get killed as badly as Chad then just pull him back out and put poor Chad back in to soak up the hits but for goodness sake at least put the kid in there to find out if the team plays better with him out there.

No.  And you have a point about the shelling Henne will probably take and it's toll on him.  Of course Indy is missing some defensive people so it might not be as bad as this past week.
Quote:I was listening to the broadcast. His exact words were "I would like to say that Chad performed well..."
Yeah, and he followed that up with a "but" and pointed out he was sacked 10 times and hit 14 times.

Some things I took away from the presser, which anyone can watch on the website now.

Quote:Does Chad Henne start this week?  “We haven’t talked about that part of it,” Bradley said. “I know what you’re asking, but I can’t answer that right now.”

He had a tough day taking 14 hits and having several blown assignments.

They've already cut back the playbook quite a bit to help the young receivers, and at some point, the young players have to step up and play.

"At times we played with a lack of awareness."  Talking about the offensive line and receivers.

21 missed tackles.  10 busts on assignments.

Things that required discipline in their techniques, they got away from them a little bit.  The guys were overanalyzing and guessing instead of sticking to their techniques.

"I think Chad performed well, but it's hard to say that when he had 14 sacks (10 sacks and 4 hits)."  They're going to go back and look at the tape to determine where the responsibility falls on all of them.

Is it just a matter of Blake being ready for the Jags, but they aren't ready for him because of issues with the line?  He said that part hasn't come up.  He said we do need to get everything right as a team.  It wasn't based on discussions that if we get everything right, then we can get Blake in there.  That discussion hasn't come."

With the free blitzers, the quick game comes into play, and there were some issues there with the receivers and with decision making where receivers need to shorten routes, or Chad should just throw the ball away if they don't.  Gus feels there are trust issues between the QB and receivers, and the RBs and the line.
Even though Mathis isn't playing that doesn't mean that this OL won't make the next guy up look like a Pro Bowler. I don't know how many times this team as made previously unknown players look like All-Pros. You would think by the laws of averages that WE would have a player break out like that. So far in the last 3 seasons for this team it's been Allen Hurns and he's banged up right now.

It's reaching that time, once again, where it's going to be hard to convince anyone to come and watch the product.

I'm curious to see how the city of Jacksonville responds to this.

im putting the over/under for qb sacks at 7

RE: The poster who said that I misheard Gus' quote about Henne playing well.

He definitely said it.

Here's the exact quote from the Times-Union story, from Gus when he was asked about Bortles:

"We're going to evaluate everything. We have to take a look at everything. I will say, I think Chad performed well, but it's hard to say that when you have ten sacks."

Quote:Fixed for you.
Well just head out Sunday, and before the game even starts, start booing your head off. Hopefully they'll put you on the jumboscreen. Maybe a sign too. Gus you're an idiot for not starting Bortles.

This'll show them.

You do go to the games, right?

Oh..Don't forget to boo the whole defense too. They're the experienced ones..But..@ryanohalloran: 3. DT Roy Miller disappointed with number of times players on defense, "didn't even line up in the right spot." #Jaguars
Quote:Chad performed like crap, and that was against a less talented team than Indy. This is going to be a game we'll never forget...in a very bad way. Sick

Actually the 'Skins are probably better than the Clots on defense. That is why I thought this was the perfect game to start Bortles. I agree though. This is going to be very, very bad.

If that's the exact quote from the TU, they got it wrong because he didn't say 10 sacks.  He said 14 sacks.  They took poetic license and changed it because he was referring to sacks and hits.  You can watch the entire presser for yourself to confirm that.

He also went on to say that there were mistakes made with his decision making process, and that he needs to get quicker at getting the ball out when the blitz is identified.  Either throw it away or get the pass out.  The problem is that his receivers weren't shortening their routes to address the blitz, which is what you'd expect from rookies.
If the WRs were not shortening their routes to compensate for the heavy pass rush, then why didn't the QB point that out OR why didn't they call a timeout to allow the OC to point that out?

This isn't rocket science.  Heavy pass rush, do a QB draw, run some screens, hit the WRs on some quick slants.

The game yesterday was a debacle across the board.  It's like everyone just went into brain freeze and did the status quo.  No adjustments .... nothing.   Very Strange.

It was very strange.  But, there's enough fault all around to say this was as comprehensive a loss as we've seen in a while.  There were no bright spots other than the one TD Lewis had, and even that was awkward to say the least.
Just have Blake start the upcoming home games --- lol.   Check out the weak defenses (Colts, Steelers, Giants) --- OK, we'll throw Henne in there at home vs the Texans.  Can we do that?

The entire team looks unprepared, I just want to forget about 09/14/2014.
Chad Henne is the star of a comedy show at 1pm Sunday afternoon. Enjoy it for what it is folks. No point in being frustrated. Bortles will play at some point, might as well get a laugh out of the present.

It's hard to believe there are so many areas that need improvement. O-Line, WR, QB, C, RT, LT, RG, LG, SS, FS, CB, LB
