per rotoworld:
Cecil Shorts will not play in the Jaguars' season opener against Philadelphia.
Shorts, T Austin Pasztor, TE Clay Harbor and RB Storm Johnson did not travel with the team to Philadelphia. Rookie Marqise Lee will serve as the primary receiver for Jacksonville, with fellow rookies Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson playing big roles as well.

Yeah Dave, lets hurry up and get this guy re-signed, huh??

Allen Robinson is going to have a "Welcome to the NFL" moment tomorrow getting thrust into the starting rotation without playing a single preseason snap. I'm hoping he shows well in his first game action.

They offered him a contract?

This is a huge opportunity for Hurns.

Well Dave has mentioned a few times that re-signing Shorts is a high priority....
Not sure why it would/ should be one.

Yes it is. I hope he's able to take advantage.

Bummer but players can't control injuries. Gronk, Mathews last year, etc. etc. Hamstring is frustrating though, how does a guy who's career is sprinting and running, strain that many hamstrings. Can't you just stretch it out, it's not structural or torn.

Its just the luck of the draw. Almost all of our WRs suffered hamstring injuries all throughout camp.

I'm more worried about Allen Robinson now.
Initially, he was supposed to have a limited roll playing tomorrow. Now with Mr. Glass being out again, he may see more action than anticipated. Hoping HIS hamstrings hold up.

It's not that far-fetched to say the Jaguars will add another receiver from someone's practice squad.
We have 3 rookies and Mike Brown.
That isn't enough by any means. If Cecil is out today, my guess is he will be out at least another 2-3 weeks because hamstring injuries are not something that you recover from in 5 days.

Mike Brown will probably get some more playing time too. Drob may get some more receptions too.

It would be nice to have a Jags WR who actually produced for a change and isn't constantly injured or suspended. Why are they so cursed at WR? Frustrating.

Well, Hurns is on the right track to break that curse.
All he's done is overachieve since he's got here.
Lee also has showed promise as well.
