A man of few words.

There's nothing I would like to see more.  It would cement Bradley's plan of sitting Bortles, Henne would gain some status to perhaps compete for a starting job somewhere else, and the fans would be happy with the progress.  However, my hope is tempered by Henne's consistency problems.

There is absolutely, positively 0% chance of this happening. Henne just doesn't have what it takes to win games consistently. You can bet the farm on it.

Henne could play well in short stretches during  games, but I think we all know Henne will end up playing himself into the Jags #2 QB.

Maybe he means plays well for Henne.

Like as in he hits his checkdowns, throws TDs and INTs in about a 1:1 ratio, and hits around his passer rating ceiling of 80.
Quote:His hit is $4 million, but I get your point.  I tend to think Henne does feel he can be a better QB than his career stats may indicated.  I don't think he's fully committed himself to life as a backup.  He's still young enough that he may feel he has an opportunity to land somewhere to compete as a starter.  In the interim, you take what is presented.
It isn't easy to always be objective about your talents and what you can accomplish for sure.  Really depends on the person.  Regardless, I agree that it's a good thing that he doesn't have a bad attitude about anything.  I would be pretty happy to have them resign him after 2015 to backup Bortles.
He played what a total of 5 quarters and had 521 yards with 2 TDs and 0 INTs.  Not sure how much more he could have done except maybe another TD in one of the redzone opportunities.  Has to be an "A" with all expectations considered.

A+

He exceeded my expectations by light years. I was expecting major inconsistency, but all I saw was major consistency. I'll give him an A+. Hopefully, he is far away from his ceiling because that means a superbowl will be won with him
B+.

My nfl field pass died out in the 3rd game and I haven't seen the 4th game. He had that stupid late slide game 1 and has good.mobility but isn't a true dual threat (not wanted anyway). Can be interception prone. Hasn't done enough agains 1s. In reality the grade is highly pessimistic or conservative. He good.
I have to say, even from a non-biased perspective, Bortles absolutely earned an A at the least.

He displayed mechanics that no other rookie has displayed this year, which tells me that he's soaking in what he's learning; a huge reason QBs fail is because they're incapable of doing so

Definitely an A, but I don't get the sentiment of a development plan working so good you abandon it.

Their plan has him looking good but there is still room for improvement. Shut it down now and we may end up with the next Roethlisberger. Keep this training plan going and we may have the next Roethlisberger with the consistency of a Rodgers or a Manning.

I give him an "A" as well, would also like to see another TD. However the zero ints is a little misleading. There were a couple balls thrown that really should have been intercepted. But all in all he seemed very accurate.
Clearly an A+.One thing I liked in the ATL game was that even getting pressured and knocked around,he still was in gunslinger mode and wasn't rattled. The bomb to Lee was beautiful. The pressure was near and he didn't have a clean pocket, but  still threw a strike

I lost count how many drives he had and how many FGs his group produced. Any body got the time to pull that number up?
Im no expert in quarterback play. But he just made throws nobody round here has made in a long time...hell ever. Theres something about him, its exciting
He is one of if not the best rookie I have seen play in his early career. Jacksonville has struck Gold and If I have to rate him against all other quarterbacks starting four games A+  I believe he is a gamer in that he plays better in games then practice. Reason for that statement is see him throw ducks in practice and spirals in games. He goes through is progressions and keeps his eyes down field! That is the sign of a great quarterback. Check down is the last option as it should be!

Amen
Attention Gus and Dave, never put together a plan of action for a player before you experienced his play. Sitting Blake all season, insert foot in mouth and now you have to try to get it out and maintain commitment to Henne. One thing for sure Blake will not be on the bench all season!

I'd give him an A.  He wasn't always perfect, but he may has well have been for a rookie playing in his first preseason games.

They say he'll play when he's ready. You've got to believe he'll get a look sooner rather than later
