I expect Bortles to throw the ball. Sometimes for a completion and sometimes for an incompletion. Sprinkle in a possible TD or INT and you got yourself a game babay!

I want to see Bortles get to the line, read the defense and audible out of the current play because he doesn't like what he sees. I don't even care if the play is a success. That is the Blake Bortles I want to see.

Marvin Harrison used to eat his lunch with the double move. I imagine it would be worse now, as Mathis has slowed down.
I think its also worth noting, We need to see him toss some TDs. Right now, He seems to be a bit overly cautious with limited space (redzone situations) but that should get much better once we get robinson and shorts back. Also it might help if that bum lewis could do some damage there.
I won't be suprised or disappointed if he doesn't look as crisp. If he looks better than Henne then I'm going to hope he starts soon! I want him to outplay henne big-time

No, your recollection is pretty much spot on. Garrard was athletic, had a good arm, and could make all the plays. The downfall in his game was always the mental aspect where he struggled to recognize defenses. Gabbert wasn't much better at checking out of plays. Henne isn't bad, and has been given the freedom to change the play at the line based on what he sees, and I was pleasantly surprised to see they're letting Blake do the same when he's out there.

THat was generally Brunell, too. Remember? - Brunell would rack the yards up between the 20's and then get all conservative once in the red zone. I think a lot of that was Coughlin, too, who preferred to run the ball for TD inside the RZ rather than pass it.
Hopefully Bortles will start getting some TD's soon.

I think you have to take into consideration who he's had on the field. Since he hasn't worked with the first team in games so far, he hasn't had the bigger targets like Marcedes to look for. We'll see if his opportunity with the first team this week will change that despite still being down a big target or two in the game this week.

Hence why im not even marking that against the kid even in the slightest. He's been throwing to a couple WRs who will likely be either cut or buried on the depth chart come September. Really excited to see what he can do friday with the 1's.

Henne has been throwing pretty much to the same guys. (Hurns, Brown, ect.)

...and those guys have been producing with Henne too, which makes me think those guys aren't as bad as some think. Saying this as more of a compliment to those guys, and not meant as any slight to Blake.
I think Hurns/ Taylor/ Brown are quite capable and when added to Lee & eventually Robinson, make up a more than capable WR corps.

Shorts is the guy we NEED to play when we go against good secondaries
this week in DET is not a good secondary. I expect to see more success in the passing game

It's also an indication that maybe Henne isn't nearly as bad as some here want to portray it. There's a reason he wound up the starter here last season. He saw the receivers and was at least attempting to make plays while Gabbert was busy practicing his fetal roll. Not trying to say Henne is anything more than serviceable as a starter, but he's a solid backup QB that this team will be able to rely on if needed once Bortles takes the top spot.
