Quote:No doubt the WR position for the Jags has been the most troubled position of all of them.
I wonder why that is?
Just look at the QBs they have to work with. I know they drive me to drink and I just have to watch them.
Quote:This is truly disappointing to hear of this suspension but I also get the feeling that Caldwell took two premiere receivers for this reasoning. He's planned for the worst case scenario and it's paying dividends...
NH3...
I think the Tandon Doss acquisition was a worst case scenario contingency for Sanders.
Damn!!!
Sucks, I liked Ace. Hope he can return. We will see how our other receivers are playing by week 5.... If they're struggling, I think Ace returns.
If guys like Mike Brown and Tandon Doss are playing well, Ace could get cut.

I don't disagree with your analysis at all here.
Just questioning the wisdom of cutting Sanders for substance abuse issues when the team stood by Blackmon for the same thing.
Granted, we are talking widely disparate levels of WR talent between Blackmon and Sanders, but the team was pretty emphatic when it indicated it won't abandon a player going through this when discussing Blackmon.
By the same token, from simply a numbers perspective, Sanders' demons could easily make him expendable.
I'm just tired of our guys having these issues.
Weed IS addictive. You can't eat, sleep, think about anything else for about a week after quitting. I'm talking about everyday users.

I smoked weed every day back in the early 80s. When it came time to put the bong away, I had no issues doing so. Maybe because I forgot where I put it and couldn't find it. Dunno if there's a connection there.
That's cool. But it's still addictive.

addiction is more about the individual than the substance. there are some exceptions such as chemically induced products that create addictions but very few natural products are addicting.
The thing about addiction is that the physical dependency can be about the substance, but ultimately behaviors are part of the addiction cycle. That's the the difficult part and is why people can be addicted to things like gambling which have no substances involved but have similar effects in the brain to the addict. Also that's why you can get an alcoholic over the physical dependency fairly quickly (a week or two) but the behavioral patterns are much more difficult to break. For some people, they really never "get over it" and have to battle it for the rest of their lives.

exactly it's all about the individual, some people have addictive personalities as well. I have an addictive personality I figured that out the hard way so I stay away from a lot of stuff that in moderation would be fine. Oddly enough Beer isn't one of them, I can have just one or two beers and be fine. But put a pack of smokes in front of me and I won't stop I'll smoke the whole pack chain style, big reason why I quit.
the substance is addictive. just google marijuana addiction.
Remember the Emmanuel Sanders visit? I thought why in the world would they look at a Ace clone? I know now
This explains why Caldwell was "sparked" to get Doss
I think Damian Copeland makes the final roster now.
I was listening to Golden the Miami coach today at the ACC Media days. He said Hurns will be really hard for Jags to cut. He played 5 special team parts for the U
If he can do that he will be on the team. At least for the first 4 games.
How potent that stuff is nowadays it very well could be addictive. I for one think Mike Brown is gonna have a great season and this isn't that bad of news as next man up.
Cut him. Nothing special about him. Lots of wr with his skill set can be drafted in the 4th to 7th round.
I wonder if Everbank was built on an Indian wideout burial ground...

BS. I have smoked almost every day for the past 5 years. I don't do it cause I'm addicted I do it cause I like it. I do go on vacations, trips, etc without smoking for a day or two and it's no big deal.
Marijuana is VERY common in today's society. I'm going to bet that 30% of the league participates in smoking marijuana through out the year. (I am not saying regularly). But it's just too easy to do it and get away with it. It's not a bad thing in my opinion. But abusing it I feel is. Most players can get away with it. But some mess up and get caught. Great Job by ACE to get it out in the public and be a true man about it though. I feel he is mentally strong enough to get through it.
