He was Rex's guy in Buffalo and was immediately shown the bench after Rex got fired this week.
His contract basically states that he gets something like $30 mil guaranteed (over next 2 years) if he's on the roster next year.
He's getting released, since by benching him they've shown their hand and can't possibly trade him for any value now.
I think a fragile Romo would jump at the chance to play behind the stellar Jags o-line!

I think the best option is to have options. I wouldn't mind bringing Taylor in as well as maybe another draft pick (if Allen isn't worth trying). I'd give Blake another change with the new staff and if he keeps playing like he has been (minus the Tenn game), then we go to the others. We definitely cannot give him another full year of playing like poo.
You know who Tyrod reminds me of with his play..... A smaller David Garrard. Won't get flashy numbers, can make plays with his legs, but is middle of the pack

He routinely misses deep passes this year and just hasn't been very consistent. Pretty much everyone I know in Buffalo is over him and wants to start Cardale. Sure he's better than EJ, but that's not saying much. With a running game as good as they have, he should be better.
Yes, he's better competition than Henne. But I still think I'd rather roll another year with Blake than switch to Tyrod.
500 yards and 6 TDs running too. I think he's a real good QB and a far better option than Glennon or someone like that. Big arm, great runner but most of all he takes care of the football better than most.

He's got a much more live arm and is more capable on the ground than David. Also makes quicker decisions.
If we're looking for a "stable" bridge QB, and/or someone to compete with Bortles while Bortles figure out if he wants to be Jekyll or Hyde... Taylor would be a fine QB to have for that role, even as a backup.

He played 4 games in 2015... and 0 in 2016.
He's actually shown that he CAN'T play... good or bad.
It's not like he was lighting it up in those 4 2015 games either, with all of 883 yards, 5 TDs and 7 INTs.
Seriously... why are people so enamored with him? He hasn't played more than a month of a season since 2014. Let it go.

If we moved on for Bortles, then Taylor seems like the most viable option to me in FA.

I really disagree with you on Glennon. He is career backup material. He might trick a qb desperate team into giving him some starts but I think we will all see that he rides out the majority of his career as a backup.

Have you watched Cutler at anytime during his career with either team he has been on? His "I don't care attitude" will never lead him to being a winner.
Dear God, no Cutler, I've seen enough Cutler to know I want no Cutler, and I have a friend whose favorite team is the Bears and he can't wait for him to be gone.
Also, there is no savior QB out there right now, but I do figure they will bring in a vet from somewhere, but all the time pray titiian Bortles shows up next year, which is pretty wishful thinking.
If he doesn't, the Jags are just going to end up being another team with a good/decent defense and a below average QB on offense, next season.

The impressive stat with Taylor is he rarely turns the ball over. I think he can be effective with a worse run game and more passing attempts.
