I had the opportunity to learn from Fleck when he was at Rutgers I've never met a coach who engages intellectually with players as well as he does. I could talk deep football with him for hours and he taught me me so much in just a few conversations. Fleck prepares better than most NFL coaches, and he articulates and administers his themes and objectives to his players. I have so much confidence in his ability to lead because he combines the rah-rah with intellect and harder technical aspects of Game-Planning. Too many here might only see him as a motivator but he knows football and when you get him in the film room, he can spit out x's and o's on the NFL level. I think he will tone down the cheerleading at the next level because he understands the differences. 

 

The NFL experience is limited to the Buccaneers assistant staff, but he well respected there and really everywhere he goes. The knock will be his experience and youth. He's 36 and has a baby face, but I feel he could be the next diamond in the rough head coach. I normally prefer the quiet, old school stoic types and I would prefer him to be Tom's OC for a few years if I could write the narrative myself, but I don't know if Fleck would leave for an assistant job. 

 

Overall, Fleck represents the balance required to run a football program in today's NFL. He understands traditional football while incorporating new concepts. Fleck is organized, intentional and is an energizing motivator who get's the most out of his players. I know the jump would be hard, but I have a lot of faith in his style for this group. The players came to work for Gus because he believed in them and Fleck would bring the good aspects of that attitude while bringing better operational leadership and discipline to this team that would be the first step in finally becoming a winning organization again.

I wouldn't be upset if it was him he's done a solid job with Stafford.

The whole idea of Tom Coughlin returning to coach in Jax is so stuck in 1999 that it isn't even funny anymore.

Who ever it is.. it couldn't be as bad as the last one. 

I am tired of having a coach and coaching staff that nobody respects because they are unproven. The players don't respect it, the fans don't respect it, and the results are obvious. 

 

Give me a two time Super Bowl winning coach with a firm disciplinary style. Give me a culture that EXPECTS to win. 

 

Give me Tom Coughlin.  

 

Can you deny that with Coughlin at the helm, the franchise gains instant credibility? Even a 9-7 Coughlin team is a threat to win the Super Bowl and everyone knows it. 

I'd prefer Coughlin. I think we hire McDaniel, who I also wouldn't mind.

I'm still firmly in the Jon Gruden camp. I know he said he's not looking to coach again, but that's not set in stone. Money talks.

Thats such a vast over simplification of how coordinators without HC experience are looked at, you guys need to stop projecting Gus onto everyone.

I think he makes enough in his nice little booth and doing his little shows, I doubt he'll return to the stress of coaching.

Think it would be nice to get Matt Patricia or however you pronounce his name for the Patriots the D.C.

  Even with the Patriots trading away 2 of their top playmakers in the front 7 on Defense,  that unit has been a major factor in the Patriots securing a record setting 8th straight Division Title.   Matt Patricia has done a tremendous job this season and certainly warrants serious consideration for one or more NFL HC openings and potential openings.

Also his success as a coach has been embellished since he joined ESPN. Gruden may prefer to have people think he's great coach while getting paid by ESPN to praise everyone under the sun than come back and have everyone find out he's actually pretty mediocre.

I like Patricia, he is a good defensive mind. This is just me going on gut here, but I feel like he's a career coordinator, I don't get a Head Coach vibe from him. Maybe he needs more experience but I don't really see it. 

This isn't mentioned much, but Saban should be considered imo.
