Quote:If you're looking for a name that elicits the "radio show at night" type of feeling, how about the title "Darker Shade of Teal"?

No copyright worries, it ties back to the team through the color, and it suggests that there's a bit of an edge to the show. Just throwing that out there.

That's not nearly as stupid as the current show title.  Banana

Quote:I know some here enjoyed it.  I wasn't part of that segment of the message board.  If I want to hear a few buddies chatting about the Jaguars, I can pick up a phone and do it myself.

If I wanted to hear a group of buddies have a terrible radio show about the Jaguars, I would listen to the Bold City show on 930.

ZING!!!
Quote:You also forgot that I, the person that came up with that title, am stupid as well. Therefore, whatever I produce is stupid.

In fact, this post is stupid, and I'm not taking any discussions on it.

No, you're not stupid, ....your dum, remember??

According to Rico, he's dum.
Well, Rico would know since he's suave.

He's stoopid to.

With a larger sombrero.
While I agree the show had its issues I still think there is a more tactful way to addres it. if this guy wants to do this as something legitamate we should encourage and support him. I'm not saying we shouldn't make suggestions but just do it in a better manner.

Brutal honesty works far better than trying to candy coat things.  If the show isn't good, there's really not a tactful way to say it sucks.  Especially when the badness starts with the title of the show and it's downhill from there.

At least he knows what he needs to work on to improve the show.  Start with a new name for the show, then fix everything else.

If he's determined to make something of it, he's got to know where to start.

we can agree to disagree here. It comes down to word choice in my opinion. While yes it ultimately depends on who the person receiving the criticism responds to it I still think there is a better way to to criticize.

Is the show good or not?

Chicks dig a big sombrero.  Size matters.

I think their are aspects of it that are good but overall it needs work. Obviously, starting with the title.

What aspects are good?

I think the general premise and idea are good. It's just the execution and design of the internal aspects that need work.

Brutal honesty does work, sometimes.

Rude doesn't equal honest, same as being empathetic does not mean that what is being said is watered down. It's more effective to deliver criticism in a respectful and factual way. Partciularly when being done publicly. Private is a different manner, one on one. But to do it in a public manner doesn't work.

this... Working in an academic setting will teach that real quick. I also think it has to do with old school and new school teaching styles.
