Tyron Brackenridge played the carousel game too
Quote:Something tells me they like some of these UDFA guys. Rashaad Reynolds will make the roster, the guy was projected to go in the 3rd round. Wouldn't surprise me to see Copeland stick around too.

Of the UDFA, Reynolds, Cobb, Jensen and the DT could all stick.

I don't see the Louisville WR cracking the roster, unless they decide to trade Shorts....(which would also indicate that Copleland showed something, too)

I don't think Shorts is going anywhere.

I cite his expiring contract as a contributing reason.

And that doesn't really change my point.
apparently everyone hates shorts now that we drafted two WRs. Can't read a topic without someone asking for much longer shorts will be on the roster

Dont get it. I LOVE the Lee/Robinson picks but wanna see them produce on an NFL field. Shorts has proven that 2 years running. Throw him in the cadre with Lee, Robinson, Sanders, and even Brown and thats a fairly dangerous crew. No need to jettison him. Let Cecil play, produce, and earn himself a new contract be it with the Jags or somewhere else.
Have not read entire thread, but I keep thinking Branch or Alualu will be released, or maybe both.  Most likely Branch with the addition of Chris Smith.  Alualu will probably be with the team through this year at least.

I also think Kerry Taylor or Stephen Williams might be kept over Mike Brown.

1. Lee

2. Shorts

3. Robinson

4. Sanders

5. Doss

6. ?

You may want to read back thru the thread.

It's what people do on these boards.

I doubt they are going to trade Shorts.

Same here.  They actually like Shorts.
Sucks to see Rackley cut. He would have at least been good depth. That's a questionable move at best.

Talk about cutting off your hand to spite your face...

Shorts has yet to play a full season and has concussion concerns.

It's not like I'm predicting a trade of him, but I can understand why Caldwell might want to make a move with him since his contract is running out and he might believe more strongly in the guys he brought in himself.

Caldwell might want to make a move with half the roster. Doesn't make it a good idea. The rookie receivers need seasoning just like Gabbert. Their learning will be done on the field, but still, would you want to gamble on a receiving corps consisting of two second-round rookies, an undersized slot guy and Mike Brown? Shorts is definitely up in the air for 2015, but I'd be very surprised if Caldwell undercut what he's built at that position and Monroes the best receiver on the team.
why on earth would they cut branch when he looked like he was on the way up last year. I can kind of see Alualu but we need the depth and Its not like he's a bad player. Furthermore I think that after being around Clemons and Bryant they'll help him develop.

Branch isn't a true LEO, nor is he a five-tech end, so his skill set doesn't translate perfectly to this defense.

That said, the kid stepped up last year and showed that he could ball. There's usually a roster spot available for guys like that.

Most of Branch's sacks came off stunts or standing up in the lightning package. I can't see them keeping him at LEO over Clemons, Babin, and Smith/Davis. I would if he could catch on as backing up Dekoda Watson at the stand up rusher/SAM position.

If Branch winds up getting cut, it's not going to happen any time soon.  He'll be a camp casualty or he'll be on the roster.
