Wasent just Caldwell thinking it. Nice that others believed so too.
I think Bridgewater has a chance to get there. Concerns about his stature are a little overblown but Bortles is closer to being a can't miss pick.

I'll admit that at one time I was suspicious of Bortle's fast rise on the draft boards. It reminded me of Gabbert's rise.
But then I looked at it further. Their rises weren't all that similar at all.
Gabbert's rise came in a large part due to the fact that Andrew Luck decided not to declare. That left no outstanding QB prospects (a bleacherreport article talks about this even back as far as 2011 before Gabbert was drafted: [url=http://bleacherreport.com/articles/579633-blaine-gabbert-an-analysis-of-why-hes-a-fringe-first-rounder)%C2][/url]
Gabbert had his value artificially inflated by a major prospect like Andrew Luck dropping out. If Luck declared in 2011, Blaine Gabbert probably would never have been drafted in the 1st round. And that might have ended up benefiting him (or it might not have).
Bortles value was rising throughout the year. Johnny Manziel was still the big name on campus, and he declared as expected. So it wasn't lack of outstanding QB prospects that caused Bortles to shoot up the draft boards. It was, as some have stated, the national media catching up with what people already knew.
Yeah, Bortles and Gabbert both have the measurements. But those measurements are a positive, or else those measurements wouldn't be the ones that were considered positive. There was nothing wrong with Gabbert's measurements -- it was everything else.
I'm more excited about Bortles the more I think about it.
I'm so excited about the rest of the draft that Bortles is almost just the "icing on the cake".
My hope is that Chad starts early on, and while the O-line and WRs get better and better, setting it up perfectly for a refined Bortles to step in and start his career.

Wouldn't call Carr big, and the other three all have serious issues. Mettenberger has that back problem, McCarron can't be called a franchise guy by anybody, and Savage is on Step 1 of 50 on how to become an NFL QB.
Just saying Arians has a bias towards those big QB's based on his offensive style. He has always preferred those guys.
Bruce Arians has a great track record when it comes to QB's. While I'm not a fan of Carson Palmer from the standpoint of all of the wear and tear he has, he had his best season in a number of years in his first season in Arizona. Especially when factoring in the Cardinals problems up front.
My guess is the Cardinals would have kept pick # 20 if Blake Bortles was still available and used it on him.
Arians' endorsement of Blake Bortles doesn't mean Bortles will reach the heights of a Franchise QB. But when it comes to evaluating QB's with relatively similar builds, Arians has tremendous credibility.
