Frangie deserves a lot of credit for building the station, focusing on as much local broadcasting as possible.  As other stations are going to more syndicated shows, 1010XL has made a real effort to do as much local broadcasting as they possibly can do, regardless of the topic.

Well, with all this investment going on with the station becoming the flagship, I am sure they know about the issues you and others cite about listening range. Maybe there is something in the works to improve it.

You have got to be kidding me, how do you bring the biggest Steeler homer in this entire city on to be your play by play guy???

They got one of the FM country stations to carry the games too.

Local sports radio in Jacksonville is definitely improving with all these recent changes.  Things got pretty rough for a while after Prisco lost his show. 

Seven pages of lamenting over Brian friggin Suxton? I would rather hear fingernails on a chalkboard than Suxton. Frangie sure ain't much better but I have heard some of his college PBP and it ain't bad. The website will now have to endure Suxton.

TBH, it's more about Frank friggin' Frangie than Brian friggin' Sexton.

For quite some years now folks on here have called for Sexton to be out. It happens, and now look at it. Some aren't happy unless they are complaining!!

Frank Frangie will be the Mike Mularkey of Jaguar radio broadcasts.

Brian Sexton was the Richie Kotite of Jaguars radio broadcasts...

This was long overdue, the play-by-play guy shouldn't be so depressing and uninformed about the game. IMO this will increase the fans knowledge and moral for those who listen to the games on the radio. Good move JAGS!!

Honest question... TMD, when did you ever even hear Sexton, rather than on replays where they include the radio audio?

I listened to him in the past, usually in preseason. So I know how horrible he is. 

 

Not sure why the replays wouldn't qualify otherwise though.....thats still his crappy calls.

Frangie is a known entity.  He's not a good choice to be the voice of an NFL franchise.
