Quote:I've never claimed I would do one. It's not my thing. What's your point? I'm not allowed to disagree with a mock without wasting my time in doing one? Is that it?
You're allowed to "disagree" with some of the mock, sure.....but if you're going to criticize/
bash another's work, IMO you should at least have the stones to do one, yourself.
Quote:Not sure what the infatuation with Troy Niklas is...
Especially when WRs that could potentially develop into #1 can be had at #39.
I see Niklas actually very similar to Marcedes Lewis, a guy you hate on this team.
I guess he'd be cheaper than Marcedes, but in terms of skillset, I don't see them much different.
I
don't see Niklas as very similar to Marcedes. Niklas actually catches the ball when thrown to him. Lots of untapped potential. Was underutilized. Niklas after development will be a Jason Witten level TE in the pro's.
Giraffe is half that level of TE.
Quote:I could probably do the same thing as TMD, cutting and pasting from a host of mock drafts, but what's the point?
So we can tell you how dumb you are and who we would take instead.... Duh? Isn't that what's going on here?
I second that Niklas is very similar to Marcedes as far as skillset. They are both inline tight ends pretty much limited to seams and red zone.

Coming out of UCLA... Marcedes was an even more athletic passcatching TE than Nicklas
Not a fan of Troy Niklas. I don't think he's a 'better receiver than most people think'. I certainly don't think he'll be the next Jason Witten. I do however understand going with a TE in the second after a QB. TE"s are often a Quarterback's best friend. I think with the WR class, a WR would be a good pick there too however.
I think having a backup plan to Gerhart is needed. We don't know what he's capable of in the NFL. No need to spend a high round pick on an RB. But if Gerhart fizzles out or gets injured, are we comfortable where we are with our offense the way it is?
I think waiting that long for a pass rusher is waiting a bit too long too.

LOL! Work! That's good stuff right there.
Please, save the manhood challenge for some of your fellow co-workers. I'm sure the 16 year olds look up to you as some sort of guru. If a mock draft is somehow a measure of manhood, it would rate somewhere below a 40 year old video gaming in mom's basement.

Same size/ skill set as Witten.
Doesn't have briefcase hands and run like a Giraffe, either.

I don't need a mock draft to point out the lack of intellect for one certain poster.
Quote:I think Shaq Evans is too often overlooked in the conversation of receivers in this draft, I wouldn't be surprised if he's a steal
Right? 6'3" - 214lbs - 4.4 forty..... I'd feel pretty good about handing him over to Jerry Sullivan with the 105th pick. Or we could add a 4th running back.....

Yeah, speed and size with Sullivan as a coach? Not a bad way to go, although I don't think he's quite 6'3".
So you're reaching for a QB who'll be there later on in one and can be traded down for, taking Marcedes Lewis 2.0 in the second round, and banking on a corner who played at a school with a total enrollment of 12,000 and competes in Division II as an immediate starter?
I like West, but I don't think he'll be there. You're smoking something if you think Thomas will fall that far. Murray, eh, probably as good a QB as you'll find on the board that late, but there will be better value at other positions. There's no need to blow a four on a QB if you spend the third overall pick on one--look how well that model worked out for Washington.
I frequently wonder how you justify painting yourself as this personnel genius, then put out mock drafts that have the Gene Smith Seal of ApprovalTM on them.

I see more Marcedes than Jason Witten.

LOL @ "4th running back"....he'd be no less than the 2nd best RB on the team as soon as he stepped foot in camp.
Could easily overtake Gerhart at some point, and be the heir apparent as the starter, as well.

We'll see if the above is accurate as time goes on....Methinks no.

What's funny is if you look at his scouting report, it sort of sounds like Marcedes coming out of college. Witten had proven himself as a blocker and receiver. Marcedes was simply a receiving TE coming out of college. Not sure what happened there, but he's turned into Kyle Brady in recent years.
Niklas can catch the ball, but doesn't have the best skillset when it comes to running his routes. Ho hum speed. He's not much of a blocker, but he can learn.
I guess he's white, so that's the Witten tie-in.

And so begins the hyperbolic meltdown.
TMD
The Mayockwannabe Draft
Same verbiage. I like this. I don't like that. I would be happy/ unhappy if " we" did that. I wouldn't do that.
Both guys use I more than any other word.
Personally " I" don't care.
Neither pay for a seat.

I value a potential #1 WR higher than a backup RB that might be the starter at some point. Call me crazy.
