Quote:I only remember about 4 pages of him bad-mouthing the pick, the player and the GM on draft day.

Quote:No, he didn't. He panned it. He wanted Matt Barkley and he foolishly compared Cyprien to Sabby Piscitelli.

Issue resolved.

I suppose it's too hard to keep up with all his flip-flopping nowadays.
Quote:How about this. Read the article in the OP and tell us what you disagree with.

Still waiting.

I mean, surely as a guy that is full of nothing but fresh football takes you could break down the article (you know, the purpose of the thread) and tell us why you disagree.

Right?

Right?
Quote:Am I the only one that remembers TMD actually liking the Cyrprien pick when it went out last year?
he didnt like the Cyp, Gratz,Ace, i dont remember him liking any of the picks
I feel slighted. I was hoping TMD would still be in here explaining to us why 2nd round pick should measure up to a top 15 pick.

Seems completely logical.

Edit ; spelling.
last year cyprien was linked pretty hard to us and sabby piscatelli was the cool comparison. At least he got upgraded to DD comparison.

this year obviously a QB is going to be drafted so being the odds of one coming to us that he doesn't like, every QB besides teddy is getting the gabbert or the delightfully hilarious "carr bloodlines" comparison.

one week away now and still no "rec boards." At this point in time I feel like this is the best of our knowledge about how things are going to shake out. Nothing should change between now and then. So where is your excuse, tmd? Instead of arguing with us for 15 minutes you could easily put it out. Put up or shut up, boitano.

Cyprien rookie year he started played in 15 games and started them all. Polamalu in his rookie year player 16 games and started none.

In Polamalu's first year as the starter he totaled 96 tackles ,  1 sack , 10 Pds and 5 Ints and one FF on a consistently successfull steelers team who have had a loaded defensive roster for years and at that time had one of the more feared LB groups in front of him full of pass rushers and studs.

Cyp totaled 104 tackles , 1 sack , 5 PDs and 1 Int  and 2 FFs on one of the worst rosters assembled in this teams history . Teams were killing us early and then just running the ball taking away from pass play chances for Cyp. Yes part of it was him but he was far from the biggest issue on defense.

I get the feeling had Polamalu been sitting behind our D-line and supporting cast in the secondary (Which included multiple rookies btw) his numbers would not have looked nearly as good.
Wait did it get banned again?

Pretty much. He's like early 2000's colt WRs he cant handle physical man to man press coverage.

why are you telling me this? I liked the Cyp pick he was one of the guys I wanted us to get. I already know this. I said TMD didnt like any of our picks last year. He wanted Arthur Brown in the 2nd who didnt even see tge field much and said he was the next Ray Lewis/ Mike Singletary. TMD dont even watch college he just hears about them and picks his favorites and sticks with them, bad or not

Funny to watch too.

All bark and no bite.
All secondary players look better when their front 7 is beastin.

Darius was a great pick at #25.  He was the enforcer.  I hope Cyp makes as many big plays in his career at Double-D did.  Darius was also a strong presence on the team and in the community.  Ask Randy Moss if Darius was any good.  Moss spent a whole game watching for Darius instead of the ball.

When you hear Gus talk about Cyprian, you get a strong feeling he is central to the plan.  Gus seems happy about the progress.  I think they felt a young secondary takes longer to gel than most other units, and so the trial-by-fire and some growing pains last year.

TMD is wrong on this one.. I hope he can admit it. That was at least be a step I. The right direction for him.
I have a prediction. The Mad Dog may get banned on draft day if Caldwell makes a pick he don't like

well you know there's gonna be a pick e just hates

The worst thing is, even if it is a player he once claimed to like, he will be in here saying:

"We could have gotten more value at that pick."

"I liked him, but later in the draft. The Jaguars reached. Alualu."

"We could have traded the pick for Bryce Brown or Ryan Mallet."
