Quote:LOL, "we" again.... whats the matter desperate to include yourself in a group. Afraid to stand alone on your own opinion?

"We" was disproven  as quickly as post 71 as that opinion shared the premise I brought forth.

When are you going to figure out no one cares about you, but you?
I really don't blame Blackmon.  The way I look at it is .... if I we're supposed to be an elite WR and had Gabbert as my QB, I'd probably spend most of my time off the field smoking crack or something.

Quote:<shrugs> I still prefer Jones to Green.
Disagree. Injury concerns surround Jones where Green hasn't really missed a game. Also, look at the QBs they play with. Green has Andy Dalton (who consistently under throws him on deep routes) and Jones has Matt Ryan.

AJ is the second best WR in the game behind Megatron.
Quote:espn and nfl ha him as 1 of the 6 elite prospects that year

Yeah, but you always hear someone (and often from this board) saying things like "yeah, but" about Blackmon, that he's not as talented as WR X or WR Y, such as Sammy Watkins for example.

All because Blackmon isn't 6' 3" or doesn't have 4.3 speed. Those things obviously don't matter in terms of Blackmon, because when he's on that field, he's a stud. As good a WR weapon as anyone not named Calvin Johnson.

LOL, who the hell cares about you??? Egomaniac.

I gotta agree with The Dog on this one. Blackmon does catch a weird flack for his non-elite measurables, but the guy can just flat out play. He looks to me like he can just process what everyone else on the field is doing faster than everyone else can.

...says the guy who begs others to read his posts within the very same thread.

You're making my point again, again.  That was precisely what my reply was about.

(I am interested in your take on Action Park, though.  If that makes you feel better.)

For a guy who loves to talk down both Mack and Watkins, I find it curious that we haven't seen the infamous "rec" board 2014.  When's that coming, again?
Sammy. He's just too much of a talent to pass up on.

im gonna assume that we will see it a few short minutes after the third selection in the nfl draft.
Watkins by a slim hair

i agree with everything u said
I voted for Mack, but realized that if I had voted for Watkins, the vote would have been split 50/50.  So I changed my vote.

Both guys could be real difference makers for a long time.  I would probably lean toward Mack, because nobody that big should be that quick and fast.  I would be very excited to have Watkins speed and playmaking potential too though.  I'm good with the coin flip on it.

Blackmon is elite if he can stay on the field. had he ran a tick faster in the 40 or had another inch or two people would be drooling. His vertical and pterodactyl like wingspan at 34" gives him a better catch radius than Plaxico Burress had at 6'5". not to mention that he has unreal hands and wicked body control to make last second adjustments and box out defenders. His style of play will make him maintain that level of play for a longer span of time since it wont matter if he loses a step. If he can solve his substance abuse problems he's a difference maker.

as far as Mack vs. Watkins. Its a coinflip. both are needs but I think the need at pass rusher / linebacker is greater considering our LEO's in Babin and Clemons are past 30 and theres no guarantee Branch will develop as a lot of his sacks came on stunts and working inside against a Guard, if he can learn to bend the edge better he could be a 10 sack guy, especially with an elite talent like Mack across from him. What worries me about mack is that he seems like aaron curry, so totally safe that he's not you know, hes good at everything but doesnt have that one area that I can say wow he cant be stopped with a skill like that. Yet every time I doubt him I pop in the Ohio State tape and watch him dominate like Demarcus Ware did at Troy....... but then I watch the Orange Bowl and see Watkins dominate that same team on the same level.  You can't go wrong with either of them, but considering the depth of this WR class, the shallow pool of pass rushers and defense as a whole in this draft and the bigger need at LB and pass rusher, Mack makes sense. Blackmon will be back eventually (even though its just a luxury and "not a sure thing" hes too competitive to not get clean and get back on the field). Mack can play LEO, or Strong Side Linebacker and just dominate that edge. I see other WR's in this draft that while not Watkins level, can give enough value to justify Mack > Watkins.

I'm leaning Sammy only because the offense is so putrid and I don't think there is much of a difference between Watkins and Mack.

I know we can't count on Blackmon coming back but imagine Watkins/Blackmon/Shorts/Sanders.

DAMN

I would be happy for either one of them if we don't draft a QB with the 3rd pick but a slight edge goes to Mack just because of the depth in WR's in these years draft.  Definitely will not be disappointed if we draft Watkins.

I voted Watkins.

The way I see it is that Watkins and Evans are the only receivers I can easily see becoming elite receivers.  I like the rest of the receivers, but I don't feel like they have elite potential, but above average #1's at best (Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks, Torrey Smith, etc).  At pass rusher, I feel like you can pick up a rusher in the 2nd that may be an elite or close to elite pass rusher.  I would take 12 sacks per year over 80 receptions per year.

I think they are pretty much dead even as far as prospects go.

I'm big on Watkins over Mack.  I'm not wild about taking a linebacker at #3 and am also not sold on Mack.  He's a small school guy who got most of his production against lesser competition.  I'm also not wild about taking defense over offense.  Has everyone forgotten that we finished dead last in offensive points last season?  Our stats would be even worse if you took out points scored in garbage time.  We then spent most of the offseason upgrading the defense.  If we don't score more points, this team will be a joke once again.  Personally, I'd like to take a quarterback.  If the value really isn't there and we can't work out some trade, then Watkins is my next choice.  Just because there's depth at wide receiver in the draft doesn't mean that there is going to be a star wide receiver for us later.  As someone else stated, I'm looking for a true number 1 wide receiver to stretch to field, not just some guy who can beat out Ace Sanders or Mike Brown.  We need someone on offense who can stretch the field and make big plays.  Let's stop being the laughing stock of the league.

I would have selected Mack a week ago, but after reading the article about Watkins in S.Illustrated I've changed my mind. Watkins seems like a good kid who made a mistake after his freshman year. It seems like he has learned from it and will not be a risk like Blackmon. His explosiveness is undeniable and the Jaguars need a difference-maker on offense. Even if I knew Blackmon will return and stay out of trouble, I'd still take Watkins. Defenses will have a hard time containing the Jags passing game when Watkins, Blackmon Shorts and Sanders are all on the field at once.

After selecting Watkins, I'd go for either VanNoy or Attaochu in the 2nd. Both should be very solid NFL players and become immediate starters.

The poll is as even as the players are hah.
