I think I would do it if Clowney wasn't there when I picked.  Is Suh+Evans/Barr>just Mack/Watkins, I dont know, I would have to think long and hard about it.

.....and the player is overrated, anyway. Detroit's defense for all the hoopla over those 2 in the middle, really hasn't been all that great the past several years. Is that all their (or Suh's) fault, maybe not, but he's obviously a player they feel they can live without.

How much are you paying him?

No he's not. He grades out as a top 5 DT.

I keep hearing this, but his presence on that D-line seems to provide mixed results at best. Then consider the money, and then consider the headaches he provides the coaches/ locker room....I don't care how high he grades out as a DT, the benefits aren't correlating.
The Lions have a new head coach, and a new defensive system, Suh is a team captain, and he is not showing up for the voluntary offseason program.

THAT'S why he is on the market.

And THAT'S why I don't want him.

Detroits defense is bad but that doesn't make Suh bad. One player (unless you're watt) can't make a defense great.

I get that....I dunno, maybe I expect to see more flashes of brilliance from that group as a whole due to Suh's influence in the middle.....especially when you also have Fairley there who's also supposed to be really good.

And yeah, to be honest - the example you provided - look at JJ Watt - he singleheandedly lives up to his hype. Suh does not, well other than his hype of being a troublemaker....he lives up to that pretty well.

suh is definitely not as good as the hype.he is also a DT. now i know he causes some disruption behind the line, but not enough compiled with his dirty play to be worth what he is getting paid.

id certainly rather have someone come in thats going to play in a spot where rushing the passer is primary. pass all day.

Yeah, thats how I see it.

Suh would be the polar opposite of the kind of player Bradley and Caldwell are trying to bring in here.

Someone forgot to put on their thick skin today.

It was a joke, come on now.

If he's traded it's whatever contract he's currently on.
Suh is not a guy that is going to be on Caldwell's radar.

He's in the last year of his deal. You're paying him 12 million in 2014 and then he's a free agent. So are you going to pay him or let him walk?

I don't see now you can say that. None of us know what kind of guys are on caldwells radar. There's probably a .01% chance we do this but it's too soon to say what kind of players Caldwell will target.

Depends on the season. That's been Caldwell's MO. A lot of guys get front loaded contracts making them one year deals in essence anyway.

It's to soon to say, but you put the odds on it. Hmmmm...

He's likely to be a holdout in Detroit. I don't see him being traded unless the new team agrees to a contract with Suh prior to the trade.

Not a chance I would trade for him. Not with his contract situation.
