Quote:Say what you want on your own, but don't go altering my statements. I don't want somebody on my team that's that blatantly dirty and then makes up really bad lies to 'cover' himself. No thanks.
I actually agree with this for the most part. I'd like Suh on the team but at the same time, that kind of thing has no place in the NFL. He's probably the dirtiest player in the NFL to me... But I can't say I would be upset if he landed here.

Yeah, it's a mixed feelings kind of move. It would be nice to have that kind of talent on the roster, but you really don't want the baggage that comes along with it.
Quote:If Suh did become a Jag, and they made that trade, the Jags could then likely select Barr, Gilbert or Evans at 10.
The DL at that point?
Clemons/ Marks/ Suh/ Barr
with solid depth behind that
Not sure if Suh would play the NT role, Bryant would play LDE, and Barr would probably play the SAM.
Quote:Our pick and Blackmon for theirs and Suh?
dumbest trade ever?
....we move back 7 spots, AND give them Blackmon, and we get
Suh, and his attitude that apparently Detroit is winning to part with, and the right to pay him a gazillion dollars?....
Where's the win in that??????
If we make a deal with Detroit that includes Suh coming here, it better be a deal that actually makes it worth our while.

According to Jaguars' OC Jedd Fisch, Blackmon won't be traded. "The next game Blackmon plays will be as a Jaguar."

I hope he's 100% accurate. Because thats how it should be handled.
If the Jags cut Blackmon or trade him away for pennies on the dollar, they'll wind up regretting it.

And then he gets suspended again right after a 145 yrd performance.

Oh well, if he does then he plays nowhere after that. AT least that would ensure some closure without a chance of Blackmon blowing up to a HOF career elsewhere.
Quote:And then he gets suspended again right after a 145 yrd performance.
He could also come back and have that same 145 yard performance only to blow out a knee a week later.
Life is a risk.
This team is better with Blackmon than without. If they can get him back on the field, as Fisch just said, it's gravy.
Quote:I think Gus (a leader of men) would be able to tone him down, Jim Schwartz (by all accounts) didn't hold guys accountable, that's why that team was so undisciplined. We'll see if the stoic Jim Caldwell is any different, if the Jaguars have a chance to move back to 10 while acquiring one of the more dominant defensive linemen in football, it absolutely makes sense, we have the cap space to pay him, and would instantly make our defensive line a force to be reckoned with.
I don't mind the Jags getting Suh and moving back to 10.....but IMO the Jags need to be compensated more than just Suh, given the contract.

Move back to 10, acquire N. Suh, and the Lions 3rd round pick, would you do it?
Quote:Move back to 10, acquire N. Suh, and the Lions 3rd round pick, would you do it?
Nope. I'd want something close to the value of #3 in draft picks. Suh would be gravy. They'd have to give up at least their 2nd and 3rd round picks to make this acceptable. Even those picks aren't quite enough, but it's close enough to make it interesting.
Quote:Move back to 10, acquire N. Suh, and the Lions 3rd round pick, would you do it?
It would make it more tempting.
I'd say - swap 1sts/ Detroits 2nd/ Suh/ and a 4th rounder either 2014 or 2015 would be acceptable.
Since we're speculating...
What would people think of say... Carolina moves up from 28 to 3 for Greg Hardy and a new contract? Jacksonville gets Hardy and probably whichever quarterback at the end of the 1st.

The move up from 28 to 3 would cost the Panthers more than Greg Hardy, I'm assuming the Jaguars would also ask for a 2nd and 5th rounder as well.

Swapping picks plus Hardy? No thanks. That doesn't even touch the value of that pick.

Yeah, just throwing it out there. Likely more would need to be added, but just a thought about a franchised player we could use and a possible desirable draft position.
