It's definitely more talented than 2-14, which is what Gus was headed toward. The next coach needs to be able to develop guys, and not need a bunch of already developed all stars handed to him in order for his schemes to function.

"Talented players"

Ivory

Robinson

Lee

Hurns

Beacham

Linder

Yannick

Malik

Telvin

Poz

Jack

Ramsey

Nortman

Myers

Everyone else can kick rocks

Not as talented as everyone thinks, but surely more talented than the gene smith era
What in the heck does talented player mean? EVERY NFL player is TALENTED.

Barring some mild sarcasm.. In reference to other players at their positions around the league would determine talent levels. Chastin West is talented enough to try out for an NFL team, but in comparison to Randy Moss, West "sucks". If your WR1 is Chastin West, your WR core is not 'talented' compared to other top WRs.

QB - Awful. Bortles is the worst starter on the offense next to Parnell.  I want to see Allen so badly!

RB - Meh, Ivory has what it takes to be a 1k rusher, want a different RB2 though.

FB - Get one.

WR - All good, Robinson needs to take another step to consistently have 1k yard seasons. Hurns was Hurt. Lee could be a #1.

TE- I like Koyack and Sterling. Cut Thomas, or bring in a coach that can motivate/utilize him to succeed.

T - LT is fine, RT is bad, we need a starting RT

G - meh Prefer 2 new Guards, starter and depth

C - Good

DE - OK  Folwer needs work, Yannick is a stud.

DT - Need some young talent inside. Day should be an answer

LB - Good. Want to see Jack push for starting time

CB - Average. Ramsey is going to be elite, need to find CB 2 tho

FS - Gipson just didnt get the big time plays, hes OK.

SS - Need one, Cyp is bad.

K/P - Good.

We are hardly good at WR IMO. I don't have All 22 access, but I'd like to see why Bortles is unable to find anybody when he has 4-5 seconds in the pocket.

No DE is a stud on our team. I'm sorry. We can't consistently pressure the QB and I just watched a backup QB torch us and completely abandon the run.

While we have talent, we are far from "set" at some positions people think we are set at.

Yes the team is good enough. Give us any of the other teams competent coaching and we are crushing this division even with Bortles. Bottles needs to work and be a professional.

But how do you know if he even wants to be good? Is this like Judge Smails asking Danny if he wants to be good?

I don't buy this "even with Bortles" part. The reason another coach would have done better is at least in part that Bortles wouldn't have stayed on the field playing as he did. I remind you that we watched him try, and fail, to throw a ball into the dirt earlier this year. Nobody is winning anything with that at QB.
We have an average team with Ramsey being our best player. Telvin and Linder are 2nd and 3rd. Yannick 4th.

Jack?

Fowler?
Do you give up a second round pick to the Saints for a proven coach? And yes I understand the even with Blake comment. Someone with a spine would rein in the guy. Was today's game plan for real? I mean all Hackett has done is try to limit BBInts.

Quote:Aside from QB we probably have the best overall roster in the division.
Lol...Everyone talks about how good the defense is.  Savage who had a career 52% completion moved the ball up and down the field all day.  The offense line is horrific.  No one gets pressured in the league like Bortles and the running game is pathetic.  QB is bad but this team is WAY more than a QB from being good.

It's as talented as a 3-13 or 2-14 can be. We have some talent but at key positions we are painfully below average.
We have a ton of talent on the roster. The problem is, we're lacking in 3 very key areas.

QB Play. It's been terrible this year. I want to believe it's just a down year and he can turn it around, but this year it's been bad.

Run Blocking. Or better, the lack there of. Ivory is a talented back, but he's not a tier 1 RB and you still have to give him at least adequate blocking. Our Oline has not done so.

Pass rush. Yannick looks promising as a rookie, but he's all we got.

Lacking in those 3 key areas significantly impacts everything else.
Objectively....   Is the Offensive line woes a symptom of the coaching and game planning?  I can see it both ways.

Talented, but young and mentally fragile, can't win, still a lil football dumb because the coach sux
Any way you cut it we need to be better. Every team can do something better. A great QB can mask a bad offense overall. A good run game can make an average QB look good. A great coach can mask/coach up a poorly talented team. The problem is, we don't have a great QB, RT and OG is a huge ? mark,  and we just fired the worst coach in NFL history. We need to at least have 1 of the 3 listed to be competitive and we don't even have 1.

Quote:Must live in NY.. That place is really overratted

Like literally. You compete for space with rats in dear NYC.

Talent there, like everyone else. We are just behind the curve on the two most critical positions in football; pass rusher, signal caller. A win is engineered. Le poor man's Jay Cutler can improve his mechanics to great heights, it will help. But ultimately the QB grabs a game with his head. I don't sniff awareness in our guy.

The art of winning is intricate. Osweiller as an example looked overwhelmed by the form of the game. Savage comes in, showed the basic understanding and command needed, out of all 3 QBs we saw yesterday. Outside of Osweiler's 10 points gifted, of which we are quite familiar, and Lee's comparably virtuous 7, Jags O came up with a grand total of 3 points all by themselves.

Conversely, the rush is a novelty; gets home on reserved occasion. Allowed Savage to work. That's how you get caught at the finish line. Until the Jags get a truly legit bonafide front line man, and an alert field engineer, this team is stuck. Despite how much else is around.
Yes.
