Quote:Everyone loves to insist we have no talent at QB just because. How it is humanly possible to watch the same QB last year and claim he is not talented?
It`s because they watched him play this year.

What I have been saying is based on last year, we all know he has the talent and just needs good coaching to succeed. Why can't people comprehend this?

People comprehend that it's your opinion. You don't seem to comprehend that it's only your opinion and not a fact.

Some share your opinion. Others do not.

Bortles better statistics in 2015 do not make the statement that he is "has talent" a fact.  It's still just your opinion.

You got your s and d mixed up, he had the talent and it's clear he lost it this year by not caring enough to work on his craft over the off season.

there are numerous examples of QBs being good for one year and flaming out due to there confidence being shot.
The question has become which Blake Bortles shows up in 2017? The 2015 version or the 2016 version???

Im gonna say it's the 2017 version
I think the defense is. I think the offense needs blown up.

That is not the question. Dave Caldwell left the door open for the new HC to bench him. Will Blake remain the starter?
Its a talented team, we just over estimated TE,WR and our Oline was about as average/bad as we thought it was.  Fowler gave us a lot of false hope in the edge rushing department.  Talented but average in a few spots.

We definitely did not overestimate WR. The Allens were good when Blake was good. Marqise is good now that he finally can stay healthy. Our TE problem was fixed this year except for Julius getting hurt several times.

The OL is another story. Better LT, better center, and a frequent "changing of the guard" on the left side. Still no good run blockers. When we can run block and fix Blake, we will be a playoff team.

That's the thing that has a lot of us concerned. If Bortles returns to 2015 form he should be fine. If not, who is the QB??
look at our stats for the year and tell me we didn't overestimate our WRs.  Julius Thomas had an awful year.  I'm not going to blame Bortles alone for the failures of the offense.  Many times this year WRs and TEs were failing to get seperation or dropping passes on big plays.

They aren't average WRs but they aren't far from it at this point.

I think Blakes biggest issue is his insecurity with his baldness. He's definitely self conscious about (putting on a hat immediately after taking off his helmet, always wearing hats). I think its caused him depression and it distracts him. I wonder if he teammates give him a lot of crap for it.. This sounds ridiculous but it would explain how he's not so intune with the game as he was last year. Its constantly on his mind.

Last year Bortles was great. The healthy WRs were too. I liked Bryan Walters and Rashad Greene. This year Bortles is bad and the WRs went down with him. You can"t blame it all on Bortles, but he has some of the responsibility if WRs are dropping bad passes.

Julius Thomas keeps getting hurt and missing games. That skews the stat sheet unless you are looking at the "games played" column.

I would not want to show off a large bald spot at age 24 either, but there is no reason to worry about that.

What if he becomes as great as Lebron? He would have to sign an endorsement deal for hair plugs.

lol, if he won some games his and everyone else' hair wouldn't fall out as fast.  Gus had a head full of hair when he got here.

What if you read about Joe Buck's hair plug surgery that cost him his voice for a whole offseason? I am sure Blake would rather keep wearing hats.

Gus has the same amount of hair now he did in 2013.
Yes. Very talented players. Problem being, they essentially stayed rookies. They flash big time and then make stupid mistakes. The player development under Bradley was nonexistent and add that with terrible gameplans and lack of halftime adjustments and you get a 2-14 team of very talented players.

mediocrity was not only accepted, it was encouraged. I think any halfway decent coaching staff can pull a 8-8 season with the current roster.
