Do you think he could be worthy of a 4th or 5th rounder? Higher? He's been backing up Brady for 3 years. My buddy is a diehard pats fan and he doesn't think he will be on the patriots past this draft. Would you be happy with a 4th rounder, if "if" we go someone other than QB in the first round or 2nd?
The Patriots won't give him up that cheaply. It will cost at least our 3rd to lure the Patriots into trading him. Probably a 2nd.
Maybe a 5th and a conditional pick for 2015.I don't see much improvement over Henne in him.
You would be better off drafting Mettenberger.
You think henne is as good as Mallett? Mad dog doesn't think the pats would give up anything less than a 3rd. I know for a fact Henne is not even worth a 6th rounder.

Thats ridiculous.

Gabbert was worth a 6th rounder. I'd say Henne is worth a 5th. And I'm no fan of Henne.
Would not make any trades with the Patriots. Hope we wouldn't try to trade for a guy who's not played a full 4 quarters in the NFL. If we're going to trade for a QB, I'd hope we'd at least have more of an idea of where he is at.

Completely agree. Mallett's ship has likely sailed.
I completely disagree, Mallett has sat behind Brady for 3 years. How long did Rodgers sit behind Favre? 2 years? I honestly don't know but I think it was 2 years. But you can't be serious that a QB's ship has because he has learned from one of the greatest QB's for 3 years. But only the patriots know how good Mallett is.

Don't listen to those guys above, they're crazy.
Mallett could be a franchise level QB in this league.
Mallett was horrible when he came out of college. If someone gives the Pats anything for Mallett I would be surprised can we say Matt Cassel 2.0?

lolwut???

If that were remotely true, one of the two (Mallett or Brady) would have been traded away for a ransom long ago.
Yes, sailed.

Based on?

The Packers didn't trade Favre or Rodgers away after three years. So I don't think they'd have traded either away for a ransom long ago.
I do however think that Mallett would have more than 4 pass attempts in the NFL if they thought he might amount to anything. If for nothing more than the reps. They keep him around because he's a good guy to have in practice I'd presume. In fact I remember reading as such how he was good at mimicking opposing Quarterbacks during the playoffs last year.
I think if Brady got injured, the Patriots would be in deep kimchi.
There is already abundant proof out there that the Pats have turned down two 2nd round pick offers for him in the last year. No need for the Mallett thread to keep coming up there's zero chance Dave would do that.
Can he throw the ball with bodies around his feet yet?
At the beginning of this next season, Tom Brady will be 37 years old. The one thing no player ever has escaped from is father time. The Patriots know this fact, and any organization with a 37 year old starting QB would highly value the developing young QB if he is thought to be a franchise level QB. If the Pats would be willing to trade Mallett, especially for anything less than a 1st or 2nd round selection, it signals to me they do not believe him to be a franchise level QB.
