It's an insult to compare any player to Hansworth. That guy had issues that were far greater than greed. He was just a thug all around. Let's do this young man, Clowney, a favor and never include them in the same sentence anymore unless he later proves he should be.
I hope he wows the Texans scouts so Teddy will fall to us.

Just one. Not a normal course of action for athletes.
How many were projected top 2 picks who just watched their former teammate miss his entie rookie season due to breaking his leg in an un-paid college football game?
You are comparing apples to oranges.

You can very well compare apples to oranges.
You can compare their tastes for example. Their weight, size, shape.... there's a lot of things you can compare between the two.

So he can smear Teddy Bridgewater all over the field while we, once again, spend 10 years finding bookend tackles to block bookend blue chip DEs within our division.
Yep, I'd like to sit through another 10 year showing of "Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney II: Except this time they're on crack"

Right, because every other player in the country lives in a box and never ever heard about his or any other players injury, otherwise everyone would have taken the season off.
Silly argument.

Of course he does it for the money. Do you think he's in commercials for Papa John's for the love of pizza?

This made me lol, but I don't necessarily agree.

The Colts went 2-14 with Mathis/Freeney. You ain't winning jack without a QB.

Only half the equation.
If you can't affect the opposing QB, you're not winning jack even with a QB.
Did we learn nothing from the Super Bowl?
You know, I think I would have stayed in college too if I was being paid.

Houston having Watt/Clowney with no QB doesn't scare me. Houston with Watt and a QB scares me.

Houston can pick Clowney and Watt then find a QB the VERY next year and both players won't even be entering the prime of their careers.
Then you end up playing Watt/Clowney with a QB for the next 10 years.

Who says they can get a qb next year?????
Matt Schuab was not good by any stretch this year but he is still a top 15 or better QB. He definitely isn't elite but if surrounded by the right players he can win ball games. I think he is still a good QB which is why I think the Texans have a bit of breathing room before drafting a QB. They will go Clowney and start retooling their roster for another deep playoff run. Unfortunately for us we need a QB now.

I doubt if they draft Clowney, they'll keep him and Watt both for 10 years.
Even still, there's nothing we can do to stop them from taking Clowney. I'd
rather see them draft Derek Carr with the 1st, but that's not going to happen. You can't worry about what your opponents do, only what you do.

It may be time for me to be off the Clowney wagon, that character is just too much of a concern for me from the outside. Maybe we will get some more info later that shows otherwise, but it just sounds like he is just playing for money, which just isn't gonna get you to be a top performing DE consistently.
Everyone wants paid so that's not an issue. That said, I don't see Clowney being highly motivated once he gets $10m in the bank.
Also, for the record, getting paid a few thousand dollars in college still doesn't compare to the NFL pay day -- he would not have stayed.

I love how serious you come off while posting that.
It's Valentine's Day, not April Fools.

I'm not worried about him. My point is that Houston having a good QB and Watt and Clowney on the same team are not mutually exclusive.
And you'll never know. The Colts managed to keep Freeney and Mathis for quite some time. I guarantee you Watt would play ball in negotiations if Clowney was as good as advertised.
But if Houston doesn't pick him, then the Jaguars absolutely should.
