Besides maybe Teddy is there anyone else who plays like a QB worth the 3rd overall pick?

Johnny pending his hand size
I don't think teddy is worth the third pick, strictly because the amount of QB's that are in this draft and the fact that the talent level between the first 3 qbs (teddy bortles manzeil) is supposedly close, but after that all the qbs after them are pretty even and they aren't too far off from being on the level of Manzeil and Bortles.  If it were those three QBs then nothing but 5th or 6th round talent after them then i'd say yeah, it'd probably be worth to take a qb at 3. But if we can draft a guy in the 2nd or 3rd and have him pull a Russel Wilson or a Kaepernick then I'd be overly ecstatic, especially because that meant we likely took a top tier defensive player.

Regardless of whether they are worth it, QB is the one position that will be overdrafted year in and year out.
As long as his interviews go good along with his combine, Manziel is worth the number 1 pick Bortles is top 5 and Teddy is a top 10 pick.  But like Kotite said they play QB so they will be a little over drafted.

fascinating argument you've made. I'm not sure how someone could possibly prove you wrong.
Only qbs that warrant a 1st round selection

1. Bridgewater

2. Fales

3, Jimmy G

4, Jeff Matthews

Bridgewater is the only one worth a 3rd overall selection

I had this discussion with him in another thread

You should probably give this a read...http://www.footballoutsiders.com/futures...ridgewater
I remember you posting that link and those QB's that you listed which would warrant in your opinion a first round pick.   While having other people's opinions and analysis to rely on it's always nice to go out and watch all of the film available for each of the Qb's that you would like to draft and compare them all to each other, than make your own opinions about each person.  That unfortunately includes watching the negative plays as well and further more the plays that weren't bad, but if they were playing at the next level, would have been bad.  It's all of these plays that scouts take into consideration as well and say, well at the next level this guy would have probably thrown 2x as many picks as he actually did ect...  The attribute that I took away from Teddy in all of his film is his at the line adjustments.  Compared to all of the other QB's in this draft, his was the most impressive.  I would have liked to see how he fared in making adjustments against better teams but he is by far ahead of the rest of the QB's in this draft.

Now to be honest I haven't watched any films on Jeff Matthews and I probably should when i find spare time but he wasn't in any discussions like the rest of the QBs' being mentioned on the boards, and wasn't in attendance at the senior bowl or east west game.

It's pretty well established that Johnny has very large hands, especially for his size.

I watched film on most of the guys in the draft. The guys I listed are guys who I think would translate the easiest to a pro system.

Jeff Matthews is a guy to watch

luckily for me i have 3 more hours to kill off to youtube we gooo

He wears a size 15 shoe also, I think the big feet give him better balance it seems like.

Also one quick observation as well is NFL coaches are now making offenses based on their QB and team strengths and less of making the QB fit their scheme so I'm wondering how relevant being in a certain offense and set in college will matter. Fisch has already shown us he's trying to fit the scheme to the player and not the player to the scheme.

Get Manziel and we should dump our entire crop of wrs. Blackmon, CS3 and Sanders are YAC guys who are meant to be throw in to space not leaping for passes
Don't get me wrong I'm not a manzeil fan at all and think we need either a super intelligent QB that can avoid the blitz with his head, or a qb that can take the hit and still deliver the ball accurately because of the past few season our Qb's have just been getting mauled

Yes. Teddy is worth the #3 pick.

I like Manziel, but if draft him and expect him to start immediately and be productive...its a grave mistake.

He needs to sit under a vet

Bridgewater is your first guy

However on the second I am stuck between Bortles who has the size but not the arm strength and Mettenberger who has both but lacks pocket presence
If you draft a guy at #3 he better start day 1. If he needs to sit behind a vet he aint worth the 3rd pick.
