About the QB situation and our position in the draft? Do some of you think or have any reason to believe he'll (and also Gus) be high on Manziel, or will he go with the safer pick in Clowney or maybe Bortles/Bridgewater?
I don't know, I'll be really disappointed if we don't take a shot at Manziel. All I want is some excitement for this franchise that's been dead since 2007. I can understand why they didn't want Tebow, he couldn't throw or quarterback a lick. Manziel has all the skills you look for in a QB, it's really more just honing them than anything. I really see greatness in Manziel. All Gus and Caldwell talk about is wanting guys who love football and have a passion for it, and are self-motivated. That they want the offense to be explosive and they value athletic playmakers more than traditional position guys. That they want to take risks and be aggressive and creative on offense. If they're for'real about all that, and I do think Gus is, then they should draft Manziel.
I think Manziel, if available, will be the pick strictly because of his passion for football and how hard he competes every single play. Very much goes by the Gus mantra, IMO.

Nobody works harder than Tebow...nobody!!!!!
Not to single you out, but it was the exact argument that Tebow fans were saying. He's not going to pick some guy because "he competes every single play". There are going to be a ton of guys that are get drafted (even a lot that won't) who are just as competitive. Just because their name isn't getting put everywhere and on TMZ's website doesn't mean that they don't put in as much effort.
No I know, and obviously I was using a little bit of hyperbole. He will be the pick because he will be the only Franchise QB available at the time of the pick. The way he affects a game is unlike anyone I've ever seen.
He's going to pick the BAP. Hopefully that's a QB.
Teddy, Manziel, and Bortles are all a threat to run and pass.
I think his mindset is to not take Manziel at all costs. :teehee:
Clowney/Bridgewater at 3 (whichever is there). If it's Clowney, trade back into the 1st for Bortles or wait and take whoever may fall into the 2nd. If it's Bridgewater, take an edge rusher at 39.

Teddy is a pocket passer with ability to run. He doesn't utilize it as much as he's capable of. See Geno Smith or better yet Blaine Gabbert.

You can't lie. The rhetoric spit by the Johnny Football fanclub is EERILY similar to that of the Tebow cult.
Am I part of the Johnny Football fanclub, now?

If you want to be. If you advocate taking Manziel at 3 over Clowney/Bridgewater then I don't know what to tell you.
If Bridge is at 3, you take him no question. I think Clowney won't be able to impact a franchise like Manziel. If that puts me in some fan club, so be it. From what I've seen, Manziel is the other franchise QB in this draft. And Franchise QBs are always more valuable than DEs.

Don't know much about Tebow cult and don't want to.....but I'm seeing 2 sides.......Manziel.......and anti-Manziel.......and their both irritating

Nothing screams FRANCHISE QB like flying down to Miami to meet with Drake and party after narrowly defeating a team you were favored to beat by 17.
Look at him on the field. He has been one of three, or maybe four (tossing a bone to Clowney) of the most impactful players in the country. He's maturing fast, and if he wants to party on the last night of his career, so be it.

Fair enough. If you think he's that caliber player than I can see where you're coming from. He SCREAMS bust to me and the circus off the field will hardly fit in with the Gus mantra. Partying with pop stars isn't going to get you better as a QB, look at how far Geno has gotten with Jay-Z.

So if Tuesday morning a picture of Jameis Winston with Lil Wayne or whoever else at a night club surfaced would that mean he's not a franchise qb?
