no not really, HeeRo.

You see what you want. clown and racist.

Quote:8-4 & 7-5 (could've been 8-4 as the refs blew a call at the end of the Nebraska game) is mediocre? That is after the reduction in scholarships, too.

Yep. I don't see how anyone could label the job he's done as mediocre. Especially considering the circumstances.

By what standard is that not mediocre for a top flight college football program?
Dude has a nasty butt chin.
Yet to see any documentation to show that O'Brien is the Next Great Thing.

TMD is just a Bieber type groupie when it comes to coaches. Remember, Chip Kelly was going to revolutionize the NFL.

And what about the reports that O'Brien has told Penn State players that he's staying. Oh, that's right, he's a college coach and they lie to 17 and 18 year olds, and their parents, all the time.
As of now I don't care who the texans pick as their HC. Any half decent coach will get them back over .500 with that roster. I just hope they make a mistake in their QB selection
I think this thread deserves a "Schticky" :whistling:

I just want to see the Jags get better, I don't care what everyone else in the division does. If we do our job it won't matter either.

Gus Bradley> Bill o Brien

Hey, I hope you're right. We'll see....
Quote:Absolutely. That's the textbook definition of mediocre.

You're an idiot.
Quote:David Shaw is another excellent candidate.

I was hoping the Texans would get neither he or O Brien and instead would have hired a loser like Lovie Smith. But their interview with him has proven to be nothing more than a token Rooney Rule interview and they were never had any serious intention of hiring him.

You got yourselves a good one, to our dismay.

Good heavens you are such a liar.

Remember last year when you was on here saying you were in favor of either Greg Roman, or Lovie Smith coming here?

When Tucker was interviewed because of the Rooney Rule, you said you were more in favor of Smith than him.

Thats not true at all.

I never wanted Lovie Smith here. I may have said something to the effect of "I'd take Lovie Smith over a guy like Mike Mularkey", but Lovie Smith was NEVER a coach who I flat out wanted to be Jags head coach on its own.

I never even warmed up to Greg Roman until after the 1st playoff game last year when his offense dropped 40 again on the Pack. Initially I was concerned that Roman was going to be "rubber stamped" through to Jags coach since he was close to Caldwell. I wanted Caldwell to do his due dilligence and give 2nd interviews before settling on any head coach.

When offseason began last year, my top 5 coaching hopefuls for the Jags were this:

1. Andy Reid

2. Chip Kelly

3. Bill O brien

4. Brian Kelly

5. Mike McCoy

When they all were either snatched up or decided to stay in college, my next hopeful was Gus Bradley. But I was not happy that Gus was hired after only one interview because I wanted Roman and Armstrong to also receive interviews before any decision was made. The GM hire (Caldwell) was made after a 3rd interview and I wanted the same kind of due diligence done with the head coach hire.

As a matter of fact

Yes you absolutely did want Smith here. You did some lightweight trashing of the Bears for letting him go even after they finished 10-6.  You specifically even said you wanted either a "proven" coach in Reid, or Smith or a Offensive guru in Roman.

Stop with the games man!

Absolutely false.

You got the wrong guy.

If anything I trashed the Bears and Lovie because I thought Lovie was overrated.

Until Bill O'Brien proves to be a good NFL coach, there's no need to panic like TMD.

By his definition, "doing more with less" is exactly what Gus Bradley and this coaching staff has been doing.  We can't control what everyone else does... we just need to make sure our guys do a good job.  I think Gus Bradley is an awesome coach and will continue getting the best out of this team.

I really think the Texans are quite overrated.  What exactly have they done to be so feared?  They have won two playoff games IIRC in their entire history...  They have won the division a couple of times but that is also with the Colts having a down year and the Jags not being relevant in like a decade.  If we improve, you better believe we will continue putting up a fight and beating the Texans.  No need to panic.

Doing more with less is not finishing 4-12 or 5-11.

Doing more with less is finishing 8-4 & 7-5 when your program was sent to hell with sanctions and most people expected some really lean seasons to follow in Penn State.

I would argue getting 4 or 5 wins with this roster is more impressive than what O'Brien did with his roster and the competition he faced.

So you would have taken Smith over Mularkey, but now you think Smith is overrated?

Im not falling for your "love affair" with O' Brian to the Texans. If he has a disappointing season next year, you will chalk it up to him having been thrown into a rebuilding project as an excuse.
