I'll agree with TMD that we need to add a WR this draft. This WR class is absolutely loaded. We can get 1st/2nd round value in rounds 3 and 4.
Quote:If it's easy as pie - name 2 free agents and 2 rookie prospects who will block as well as Lewis and produce receiving like he has the past 4 weeks.

Quote:I'm hoping we land a receiver in the third or fourth. Paul Richardson would be a nice pickup.
But I'm a homer for CU players
Quote:JImmy Graham, Dennis Pitta, Brandon Pettigrew.
Jace Amaro, Ebron...
I don't care about blocking. Just give me a player that can produce at a high level in the passing game from the position.

The blocking thing is a cute little red herring so that certain fans on this board can try to make Marcedes sound useful, despite his overwhelmingly ineffectiveness in the passing game as a weapon for the greater part of his Jags career. Marcedes wasn't drafted 26th overall, so he could be a great blocker he was drafted that high because they projected him as our version of Witten/ Gates/ etc etc.
Yet, he's far from lived up to that. Yet, because of the one outlier season on a contract year, he still gets PAID like that. Can't wait till he's gone.

Quote:Pettigrew and Pitta? No thanks. I'll take Marcedes all day over both of them. Ebron and Graham are the only ones from that list who I would have interest in. Graham is going to break the bank and likely resign with the Saints, for wayyyyyy more than what Marcedes makes.
Not to mention Pettigrew plays in about the most pass happy offense I have ever seen, and I have never been that impressed.
Then again I can't take anyone seriously who says "I don't care about blocking." Did they teach you that in the Northern Football School for Women?
Quote:Pettigrew is not better than Lewis. Pettigrew has drop problems and produces Lewis-like numbers even though he has a much better QB slinging the football.
Quote:...at a fraction of the price. At worst he's similar to Lewis. I wouldn't have as much of an issue with Lewis if we were paying him more commensurate to what he's actually worth. At 8.5 MIL per, I expect Antonio Gates in his prime, Jason Witten, or Jimmy Graham. Not giraffe athleticism with briefcase hands.
Quote:LOL. You know what you should do before posting here again? Watch a Jaguars game. M.L. played a huge role in getting the run game back on it's feet after the bye. Its no red herring. The line got better pass blocking and run blocking when he came back and it's no coincidence. I remember a time when you kinda knew what you were talking about occasionally. Now you just hate on some jags player or roster move and defend your failed stance like you're charging a windmill. Lame.

Quote:Lewis has better hands than Pettigrew.
Quote:Disagree. At worst they are similar in that regard, but again, one makes peanuts and the other makes Jason Witten level TE money.
Quote:Yeah - this guy's the answer. LOL.

Quote:Pettigrew doesn't make "peanuts". His salary this year was about 2 million. And this was the last year of his rookie deal. Lets see what kind of contract he gets this offseason.
Quote:2 MIL compared to 7-8 MIL.....hmmmm........
And Pettigrew won't command a ton on the market either.
