Agreed I forgot about that post. I feel like a 1st and second we'd be losing out on. I'd rather take Carey from Arizona to learn behind mjd that a guard in the second

This QB  Class is quickly beginning to look like last years .... Not enough Garopplo supporters around here...

The touch and accuracy, combined with his timing.. so much potential

Garoppolo does look good, I would like to see more of him

Thank you!! I have been trying to get his name out here on these boards as much as I can.

I hope we evaluate every single QB in the draft. I mean literally evaluate every single game from high school to college. We need to know everything about the guy we take. Cannot miss on a QB again!
Quote:You're robbing us of a 1st rd pick. It should be Barr, Seferian, Yankey, Fales
The way the season is going, I doubt we'll have a chance at drafting Barr, unfortunately.
I would like to go Barr/Clowney/Mack with our first pick, in the 2nd go BAP or maybe the top tight end left on the board, and in the 3rd go with a Qb like Fales/Garoppolo or whoever Caldwell thinks is the best fit for the team

If somehow we wind up with any high end QB, I'll be happy. The only one I really watched was Mccarron during the Iron Bowl, and I thought he did great.

If we wind up with him in the 2nd or 3rd, I would have hope.

If we wind up with any of the others that the MB is talking about, I would have hope. If we wind up with any QB within the first 3 rounds and Henne is still on the roster, I will still have hope.

If somehow Gabbert is taking snaps in the 2014 pre-season, I will be rather sour.

That, I think is a fair stance to take as a fan.
Ryan Mallett?

Cutler or Vick as stop gap....build the rest of the team with 2014 picks

Only if his real name is Ryan Mulllet... Then we got some potential

Cutler or Vick... OK. I didn't realize we hit 88 MPH and have gone back to the early 2000'sies

I said "stop gap"...not franchise QB!!!...Maybe you went 88 MPH and bumped your head

Meh I'd rather have neither of them, but if we can get vick for the vet minimum since he's always hurt and probably won't play an entire season I'd be fine with that I guess. Whoever we bring in at QB if it's via FA must not be overpaid.

Totally forgot about Vick. I honestly wouldnt mind him here just for a year if we dont draft a QB in the first two rounds.

Thats only a backup plan though. Would still prefer to trade up with STL for Carr in round 1.
Vick maybe, Cutler no way because he wants elite QB money and will probably get that from the likes of a Cleveland, Jets, etc.

Cleveland is drafting a QB first round. No doubts about it.
Quote:I'm officially off the "tank" bandwagon. After watching the team this Thursday I came away a changed man (FBT also wrote a great post). I think Gus is building a culture of winning and that IS more important long term than playing for draft position; for the benefit of not only the organization but more importantly the fans. Still, I cannot deny the QB situation scares me. Do you guys think we will spend and get a guy like Cutler, continue with Henne and play the waiting game, or do we draft someone (who?) The next couple of months should be very interesting.

Winning solves everything.   The sky is blue, we all hold hands and sing Jaguars for Life... its if the losing comes back that all those other threads are created.  I'm basically saying I love the winning streak but lets not go crazy the team is still only .307 winning percent.

Vick is almost done, he has some left in the tank but too inconsitent and his style of play will cause him to be injured just look at RG3..
.Havent we learned that throwing in a rookie at QB isnt "usually" the best thing to do. For every rookie who succeeds immediately there are 10 that dont. So I'm hoping for a FA vet, and a rookie who can learn for a bit. Starting Gabbert that early destroyed him. The team needs help at OLine, WR ( if doofus cant stay straight ) RB needs addressing...anyway...there isnt a rookie out there that can turn things around soon

"There is no other way to say it: Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was not good in the first half against Cincinnati. He completed just six of 14 passes for 86 yards with one touchdown and an interception. It wasn't necessarily a case of receivers dropping passes, either. Bridgewater's passes were just off target. Don't be surprised by the time May comes around that there's a hot debate between Bridgewater, Derek Carr and another quarterback. The biggest negative that will be cited about Bridgewater is his frame and if he can handle being hit in the NFL."

Hell, Im in the minority, but if Manziel is there a bit later, grab him. Or Carr.  But my hope is to trade down and stock up. The late wins we are getting is setting the tone for next year. Not getting Teddy may be a blessing in disguise..

I dont think the Bears will tag Cutler, and yeah hes a head case sometimes, he plays hard, hates to lose and will light it up with Shorts and Blackmon. Let the rookie develop...whoever it may be.

My two cents

I liked Cutler coming out of college and at Denver but at this point i want no part of him on the team and im pretty sure he would not want to come to us anyways. Same goes for Vick.
