Quote:So the multitude here expect him to suspend players for getting into an on field scrap with a heated rival, and all but assure that the BIG 10 championship is practically handed to MSU?
Anything to prevent OSU from making the NCG, eh?
You know how it is on this board. People hate on the Buckeyes just to hate them, without any logical reason.
I will not guess Urban Meyer's reasoning for the different levels of discipline or judge his decisions without hearing from him directly why he did not suspend either player. People who do that only want to make up silly reasons to hate the Buckeyes that make no sense.
Quote:Which of course makes it right????? I have taught my children that "someone else does it" is not an excuse...maybe it is at osu???????
I didn't say it made it right. I said every major program does it. i could go through every one of these football factories and find some dirt on them. I don't see you harping on them. Maybe it is just me and I have to ask, do you have a personal vendetta against Ohio State?
Quote:It would be in Ohio State's best interests to not play in the NCG.
Or another way to look at it would be: It is in FSU's best interest to have OSU in the game.
Or another way to look at it would be: Why are you afraid to let OSU in the National Championship Game?
Quote:If he suspended the RB for three games earlier this season, then why doesn't he suspend these players for the same amount? Were the offenses comparable? Should they warrant the same punishment?
People that have knowledge of Meyer's history of "massaging" his player disciplinary actions take a jaded approach to this, and for good cause.
Of course they don't warrant the same punishment. The fact that Carlos Hyde was suspended for the
first three games is proof the reason was an
off-field activity.
Quote:It would be in Ohio State's best interests to not play in the NCG.
What makes you think that? NCG > Rose Bowl for both the university's athletics program (more money coming in) and the team's emotional state (happy they are not "settling for" the Rose Bowl).
So what if OSU gets blown out by FSU if that matchup occurs? I would rather lose that game than the Rose Bowl.
I saw the question on ESPN today, "Should Ohio State suspend players involved in fight?" I thought, yes, but I will bet Urban Meyer doesn't do it. This is no big shock to me. He established his record at Florida and will be no different up there.

Did the Gators and Seminoles ever have a fight like that when Urban Meyer was at UF?
No they were busy flashing firearms around and taking selfies with them

LOL the exact response I would expect from an OSU fan....blind support for "urban the wonderful" I would be deeply embarassed to defend the actions of a coach condoning a player fighting and giving the finger on national tv.....all of that to have FSU beat you by 25 It has been a long time since I graduated college....but I could never defend my school allowing the players to act in this manner!!!!!
Further proof that OSU sucks.
Is there another NCAA team that oozes suckage as much as the suckeyes? I can't think of one.

Haha...please. FSU is in no way afraid of Ohio State. After what I saw Saturday, FSU would beat Ohio State by 50.

While I agree FSU should win, 50? I don't think so. Another thought is Urban does have history against FSU and that could make a difference. I doubt it due the OSU defense or lack there of but I do find that aspect of the potential match-up intriguing. Since I asked navyguy let me be consistent and ask: Where does your apparent disdain for OSU come from?
No one hates OSU..the Notre Dame Bama game along with the past two championships OSU has played for is still fresh on everyone's mind. I want to see a good game. Not another blow out. That is all. This has nothing to do with ,"SEC IZ THA BEST," everyobe simply wants to see the best game possible and that won't happen since OSU played a schedule that would make JUCOs giddy. (Not really but you get the point)

50 is very possible. That defense is god awful. They made Devin Gardner look like Peyton Manning. Imagine what Jameis and co. would do.
Urban does have a good record against FSU, but this team isn't like the crappy Bowden-led teams he faced when he was at Florida. And he's 0-1 against Jimbo.
As for my disdain for Ohio State, it comes from the combination of their awful fans and the fact that Urban is now their coach.

You obviously did not hear Jesse Palmer very clearly explain that was Michigan playing better than ever because of the rivalry, not Ohio State having a bad defense. I do not have any reason to disagree with him.
I also started a thread last week about Ryan Shazier, which unfortunately nobody replied to. If somebody can have 20 tackles (15 solo), a sack, and a few tackles for loss against a bad team, obviously he can be a beast against a good team. Watch #2 on Ohio State's defense Saturday.

I think my distain is mostly for playing a weak schedule and beating their collective chests about it coupled with the absolute lack of class and integrity that follows urban wherever he goes!!!

Fair enough.
I have to point out though that in order to beat OSU you have to outscore them. They do have a good offense. If they had a defense it would make for a very interesting game.
On the awful fans, (not directed at you) I find it funny that most of the people I see with this point of view are arrogant fans in their own right. Having grown up in Ohio and living in Florida for the past 28 years I see no difference in Gator fans or Buckeye fans.

This is what I will never understand. Why hate on a team just because of its schedule? Using that logic, you should also hate the Seminoles, and here I see FSU fans calling OSU's schedule too easy.

Fair enough as well. As for the conference being down you can't blame the team. As for the out of conference schedule it is bad. Historically though they usually schedule one or even two strong opponents, a MAC team (and we appreciate the paycheck) and one other patsy. The past two years though have been bad even if you swap Florida A&M with Vandy (who dropped them). As for the fans beating their chest, the team has not lost since 2011. Can you blame them really?

They cry no respect...yet play a weak schedule...you cannot have it both ways. While not a FSU fan I do know that they played two teams ranked in the top 7 when they played, OSUs last regular season game against a top 10 opponent was SEP2009 (USC whom they lost to in Colombus). While I have destain for the schedule and their coach I do not hate......there is a difference.
