Oh, stop it. Like FSU is mounting the ramparts for Truth, Justice and the American Way.
Somewhere Bobby Bowden is chuckling.

Quote:You would have to be delusional to believe that Meyer would suspend any of his players before the game that could get them into the national championship. Braxton Miller would have to shake his dong in the faces of school children with an NCAA rep present for Meyer to even consider suspending him for the first quarter of the Big Ten championship.
Wow. Stay classy.
So who's the coach you're promoting for sainthood?

Quote:My team is Michigan and if it were just a scuffle without punches being thrown I think that suspensions shouldn't occur. The fact that one player threw multiple punches and another ran from the bench to throw punches, then flips the bird on his way out makes this more serious than a "it's getting awfully chippy" type scuffle. Ohio (not that stupid lowercase in front of OSU crap or the best band in the dog gone world abbreviation either) is a program that has proven to be dirty in the recent past and most programs try to right the ship after such scandals. Look at Michigan basketball and removing the banners etc. Instead Ohio hires Urban, maybe one of the slimiest of all the coaches. Combine that fact with this most recent incident, along with the arrogance and loud mouthedness of most Ohio fans and you will come to the reason that most Ohio fans are hated. Sorry.

Ohio is that other school. The green one. tOSU is THE Ohio State University. And you're just sore that you've only won the game twice in the last 13 years

Do you think the offensive lineman that flipped off a crowd during a nationally televised game should just get a pass?

If it was 3 Big 10 opponenets, he would not have been suspended for those games.
Until you talk to Urban Meyer directly, you have no way of knowing that.

I would not suspend him for flipping the bird without a precedent. Has any player ever been suspended for flipping the bird? So far I have not heard of any.
I just got an email from my uncle, who went to Ohio State and roots for the Buckeyes, about the Michigan game. He said Marcus Hall (#79) publicly apologized for his actions on the field and sideline.

And you also know his name, which Dumptruck apparently forgot.

First of all, CSTblank types tOSU because that is the school's name: The Ohio State University. So it is not stupid at all; it just looks weird.
Second, why are you calling the team that beat Michigan Ohio? That team is the Bobcats, wears green and white, and plays in MAC. If you can't say Ohio State call them "that team down south."
As a Michigan fan, you should be able to tell me this: Would you want the player who punched Donte Wilson and took his helmet off to be suspended from the bowl game Michigan will play in? If not, you have no reason to want that punishment for Wilson.

I just think adding the t wreaks of an inferiority complex. No other school feels the need to do it (except Miami...)

I know of only one other school with The in the name and it's been that one since day one. Older than Ohio St.

80's or 90's from what I'm reading. It's apparently the official name of the school in the 1800's but nobody ever used it. They added it to distinguish themselves....

Wow, the list was arrogant and loudmouth but I guess we need to add dumb to it as well.
The three Ohio fans (CST, JW and copy) really don't get how Michigan calls The Ohio State University just simply Ohio as a knock? I mean they talked about it during the game when they brought up how Ohio made a state law to not use the letter "M' or how Ohio calls us "that school up north" because you can't utter the word Michigan. We don't say that school down south, we simply call you Ohio because we know how pretentious you are about putting the word "THEEEEE" in front of OSU. You guys really need to step your game up, I thought you were fans.
As far as suspending our player, by all means we should and would. In fact I remember last year Hoke suspended Fitz (our top RB) for our game vs. Bama. He could've let him slide with a slap on the wrist but instead he sat him out. Also they kicked out our top WR a few years back Stonum who ended up transferring to Baylor. I'm sure there is stuff that goes on in every program, including Michigan, but Ohio takes the cake in terms of off the field issue and lack of discipline with it's players now that Urban is at the helm.

Correction: Governor John Kasich signed an executive order that for one day the letter M is illegal. That is not the same as the General Assembly outlawing it. Of course, even if I had voted for him in 2010, I still would have thought that was stupid.
The problem with not calling my favorite team Ohio State is there is another school called Ohio University, so anytime people just say Ohio, that must mean OU, not OSU. It is like if you called Florida State Florida, Oregon State Oregon, Kansas State Kansas, etc. And please don't call me and copycat fans of the same college team. Copy's favorite team is the Ohio University Bobcats, not the Ohio State Buckeyes.
