Quote:What planet are you from?

Seriously.
The one smart enough to know you don't want distractions like an obtuse ill-conceived barnstorming venture on foreign soil during the regular season.

This is a flaming joke, right?

Yeah, baby! That's what I'm talkin' about!

OK Mork.
Quote:Let's say Kahn did start the rebuild right away. I for one like Caldwell and Bradley until they show me why I shouldn't. If the rebuild started the first year, would we have gotten guys like we currently have? Or would we have gotten some others that we would be highly questioning right now? I know one year later is too soon but, you know what I mean.

I doubt we would have Gus and Dave right now. Although Khan wishes he started earlier; this way may have been for the best. He had a whole season to talk with nfl executives about being an owner. This time probably led him to Dave who has had a successful first draft (it seems). Dave led to Gus who seems good. Not many teams will put so much effort when they are 0-8 or whatever we were.

I agree. Although I didn't state it in my post, I think it iS for the best. I'm optimistic towards the direction things are heading. So far, Dave and Gus both seem to be good hires. That can all change of course. But, so far, so good. I'm glad we have who we have now and that they didn't go with some one else sooner. All we can do now is sit back, relax, and enjoy what positives we can until things start to come together in a few years. I've only been down here since '99 to be a jag fan. Things were great then. But, it's still been a long time since I've been this optimistic about the team.
Someone once described Mularkey's coaching style as exciting as a government bureaucrat leading a bird watching tour.

Gus has this locker room firmly in his grasp and eager to play. Mularkey just seemed to be administrating. The fans like the Gus juice too. He's just the man to breathe life into a lackluster team fan base.

Yes, give me a tall glass of Gus juice.

Actually, you know, I think I'll just have a coffee.

A little Gus juice in your coffee turns it "irish", if you know what I mean...  Wink wink...  Just sayin...  You might wanna try it.

Do they sell Gus juice K-Cups?
Quote:So, I guess the Billionaire agreed with me after all.....I was calling for that kind of rebuilding as soon as Khan took over, and people like you bashed me for it. But once AGAIN, after time passes, I usually end up correct....

You should thank your lucky stars you have access to my intellect and be grateful I post here.
Lets not pat ourselves on the back too quick. Remember he's not doing this with your "proven" coach.

But we all already know if things go well you will pat yourself on the back for the rebuilding plan. If things go bad you will pat yourself on the back for knowing it was the wrong coaching choice.

So either way you have set yourself up for plenty of self gratification, which by the way, seems like the only kind you ever get.

It's the way diva rolls.  He liked Bradley until the team started talking to him.  Then he didn't.  So, it shouldn't come as any surprise that if the team does turn the corner, he'll be telling us how he was out there on the cutting edge suggesting the team should hire Bradley back in the day.  As often as the glittery one plays both sides of the fence, it's a wonder he doesn't impale himself.

Actually, I think he has gone to far with the Bradley thing to go back on that now.

What will happen is that he will give all the credit to the assistant coaches when the team does well and as soon as Bradley has an off season,, what ever coaches have moved on to other teams following the previous season, will suddenly be given credit as to being the real masterminds behind the success.

That way he can leave himself plenty of reasons for more self gratification regardless of the outcome.

Oh the mental image of TMD sitting in a corner gratificating himself.

Similar image that was in my head when I heard "Gus juice" ?

Can we never, ever, ever bring this topic up again?

Like, never?
I love hindsight.  If only it could have been foresight.

Was Bradley my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th choice? yes or no?

No. He was my 6th choice.

After Reid, C. Kelly, B. Kelly, O' Brien, and McCoy.

Yes, at that point I was pro Bradley. He seemed like he could have been the best of what was left. That said, I didn't want them hiring Bradley until they interviewed a few more candidates first, namely Roman & Armstrong. Instead, they went and hired Bradley off of the first interview they gave him. I had a problem with that, and also said ahead of time - that a key for Bradley's success would be the level of assistants he was able to fetch, particularly O Coordinator & D Coordinator. When the assistant hires were underwhelming, thats something I took issue with.

But keep trying to paint a slanted view. Thats what you usually do.

What a bunch of crap.  You were so anti-Roman it was incredible.

This

I remember TMD saying things like "looks like Caldwell is going to just hire his friend."  Something of that nature.

How, exactly, have the assistant hires been underwhelming?
TMD every assistant coach hire is underwhelming.

Is it not?
