The CFP committee has strayed from the SEC all season. Alabama is the only SEC team that was ever in the top 5 and is completely deserving of its #1 ranking. Georgia, Tennessee, and LSU were overrated
before CFP polls were released.
Here is the official explanation for choosing Washington over Penn State:

Michigan is the better team. Maybe FSU wins in an upset but I don't see it.
