Quote:Is money spent on government buildings tax deductible?

Depends on the type of renovations. Right now there are huge tax breaks for energy conservation projects. I'm pretty sure the locker room renovation would fall under this. Btw the tenant of said building is eligible to receive the tax credit.
Quote:I guess I'm the only one who finds it strange that Khan has been presented with countless opportunities to just say "I'm not moving" but instead opts to wiggle and dance around the question whenever its brought up.

Please go on and on and tell me how he's going to spend 30 million dollars on stadium renovations and how that shows his commitment to this city. (He probably spends more than that in charity donations a year)

"We're going to try to make it work in Jacksonville" and "Actions speak louder than words" is his response when asked a simple question. Or you could have just said "NO, its not even an option" like Weaver did. I think that would speak much much louder than a few dollars being spent by a BILLIONAIRE.
His actions say he is totally committed to Jax:

* Interest in developing the Jax shipyards

Did you even read the links you posted?

Every bit of "proof" you provided has nothing to do with the Jaguars and more to do with business moves and investments. The Laura street trio? Business. "Interest" in the shipyards? Business. "Bringing business to Jacksonville?"...really? This is all about expanding his portfolio and fattening his wallet. Want to know something funny? Khan recently acquired land in cottage craven too (where Fullam plays). What does that mean? Absolutely nothing.

He gave 11 million cold hard cash to his alum, University to Illinois just over a year ago. Have you ever heard of the Jaguars Foundation. I wonder who writes the checks for them to give out to the community? Not to mention the other sponsorships and scholarships he gives away on a regular basis.

How about this for proof. Find me a direct quote from Khan saying the Jags aren't going anywhere. I dare you.

No, there are two of us who aren't drunk on the teal kool-aid.  You're right, he has never responded directly to the question, but has always given a feel-good, yet evasive and uncommited answer.

PS  I'm still waiting to hear what "All in" means!  :whistling:

And I don't see why we are the only ones to see it. He gives a non-answer that can be interpreted to mean anything anyone wants it to and the kool-aid drinkers take it as gospel.

I'll keep waiting for that direct quote but I have a feeling it may be a while.

Bringing business to Jax? Sounds fantastic!

$11 million donation to University of Illinois? Nothing wrong with that.

Outreach and scholarships for our community via Jaguar Foundation? Wow, this guy sounds like a real scumbag.

All you have done here is bolster my point of view. At least you responded with substance and not conjecture this time. Maybe there is hope for you.

Thank you for seeing the positive side of Mr. Khan, and yes , I hope business men like this fatten their wallets as much as possible.

Nice try dodging the point.

What does Khan expanding his portfolio and fattening his wallet have to do with the Jaguars? Not a damned thing. You've proved nothing at all other than Khan is a shrewd business man and will go to no lengths to continue to bring in the biggest bucks, including relocation if the money is right.

Did you find that quote I asked for yet? I'm still waiting :whistling:

Here's a tip, next time you post links to support your rebuttal try to actually read the article you post.

LOL.... you are funny.

He is a great businessman and him expanding his portfolio is great for our entire community.

Did I find a quote? I do not owe you a quote. I realize that if we do not support our team and meet Mr. Khan's expectations as a city and fan base we risk losing our beloved Jags. He does not need to make any such statements nor do any of the other 31 owners have to. I also realize that if we do support our team and do the right things like he and Roger Goodell praised us for doing during the London trip , that we will keep our franchise.

When you have to utilize any emoticon to reinforce your points your game is weaker than water.

I do read the links I post and will continue to be well read on all things Khan because I have great respect for the man and am very appreciative of the efforts he is pursuing in our community. Just another one of your conjecture errors.

As for dodging points, you are the offender...name ONE lie Khan has told...name ONE lie Khan has told...name ONE lie Khan has told...or since you obviously have basic reading comprehension challenges I will word it differently...name ONE thing Khan has said he will do that he failed to carry through.

And finally I leave with your little quote you so desire even though an imbecile such as yourself does not deserve it.

***Shahid Khan held his first press conference as the owner of theJacksonville Jaguars after being unanimously approved to take ownership of the team. "I just want to share with you, I'm totally committed to Jacksonville," Khan said early on in his press conference. There has been lots of wild speculation about the chances of the team being moved to a place like Los Angeles with the transfer of ownership, but Khan says he's committed to the city and that has been the sentiment from Wayne Weaver when he spoke with the media announcing the sale.

Game, set, match...sit down chump, you are not worthy.

You'll never hear it.  He'll move the team in a heartbeat when the time is right to cash in.  There's only one reason to be that non-committal.
TAMPA brings the definitive answer.....IT'S A SIGN. Big Grin

Did I find a quote? Of course you didn't, there isn't such a quote to be found.  That's the point!!!

Fancy red font. Cool.

You are an imbecile also. I answered the garbage questions and Khan has shown nothing but commitment to our community. The quote and article is definitive as it gets and he has done nothing to make me feel otherwise.

You and Knarnn should find another team to root for because you two would probably be best served as Cowboy or Patriot fans. We certainly do not need idiots like you calling our respectable owner a liar when all he has done is go all out for our community and franchise.

I plead with you, quit claiming to be a Jag fan and root for another team, there are plenty out there with winning records and lots of room on the bandwagons. We have plenty of real fans that will take your place and our numbers will continue to grow under Mr. Khan. If you have season tickets, please do not renew. Sever all ties to the Teal nation. Thank you.

Cute.

Name calling and I'm supposed to take you seriously?

I'll take the bait, but this will be my last response to you. You answered your own question right in your very own post.

One lie Khan has told....hmmm I wonder what that could be?.....

Khan's exact words (according to your link) were "I just want to share with you, I'm totally committed to Jacksonville"...

Oh really? TOTAL COMMITMENT is such a strong phrase Mr. Khan, how do you explain the London games?
Quote:And yet still he's leaving his options open.

"Well we tried to make it work in Jax but we couldn't, onward to London"

You later claimed this quote after you were called out on it for being a coward and not signing your name to it when you posted it. Since you did claim what have you and "we" done to make it work in Jacksonville? Also who is this "we " you are taking the liberty to speak for but yet not have the courage to sign your name to. Coward. I am not calling you names I am accurately describing you.

That's all you got? the London games? Not only are you a coward you are an idiot, again, only accurately describing you according to your posts. The London games are expanding our brand and making us a greater franchise. Are the owners of the Giants , 49ers, Steelers, and Vikings just to name a few not committed to their communities because they have played London games? The London games are making this franchise more profitable which in turns solidifies our future in Jacksonville. If you do not understand this basic business concept you will never get it. Sit back and wait for the winning years and then you may rejoin the bandwagon. Our dire franchise needs Special Forces caliber fans not the common foot soldier who will turn his back when he misses a meal.

Let's talk turkey.

Broaden the efforts to include signing a lease extension with a provision about addressing future stadium updating. Losing football games is not the only reason fans are balking here. Even plank-owning former Jaguars are expressing the same sense that Khan is going to move the team to London.

Sign a lease extension and our five year municipal nightmare will be over.

Anybody else think Khan is getting jolted by the price?

I can go to Walmart on-line and order 63,000 decent quality 40" HDTVs for around $18.9 million.

Go figure....

Quote:And yet still he's leaving his options open.

"Well we tried to make it work in Jax but we couldn't, onward to London"
Knarnn, this is your loyalty, these are your words! By your own admission you capitulate and have written our franchise off as you move onward to London.

Leave the Teal nation please. We will survive without you. You do not understand what Stand United means.

And your last post should be your last on this topic because you were taken to the woodshed and beaten badly.
Quote:And yet still he's leaving his options open.

I agree with you on this. This "fit" statement has the ring of faux exasperation to it.

Never did Khan promise we would not play a game in London. Again your posts are trash. You must like the woodshed beatings...
