I think the "fits" that he means and the "fits" that you are thinking about are not the same.

Quote:I mean since that's like practically the same thing...
Quote:Because it is.
What I did or where I was at 20+ years ago has what to do with what I'm doing now?
Quote:What are you trying to say? That he doesn't care about football or this team. It's just a business venture and he'll move it anywhere it takes to max out the profit. Sadly, that means the team isn't likely to remain in Jacksonville.

Quote:You still don't get it. You think his dealing with Southeast Toyota was a one time thing...don't you?I've heard of apples and oranges but bumpers and football??? LOL
Quote:Not at all.I have to ask... Why are you so paranoid? We can't change it one way or the other except by being at the Bank on Game Day- and I think most here will be no matter what -the Jags fans (who are able) are there every game day- at some point we just have to trust - stop trying to look for a conspiracy and just enjoy the process
For the record I hope the Jags are here two years from now and until forever. I will say I'm not totally sold on Khan. Even you agree that there is a chance the team may eventually relocate IF the fans don't do their part and that is what brings on my paranoia.
If you worked for a company for 18+ years and all of a sudden you found out that the company was bought by some rich mogul who has no ties to said company or the area in where its located. You know that there is a chance that they may decide to outsource your entire department even though you've met and exceeded every quota that was asked of you. The owner hasn't sent you an email stating that its NOT POSSIBLE , he instead sent an email stating that he will TRY to make it work and keep your department intact.
That wouldn't make you think long and hard about what's really going on?
I hope for the long haul we do our part and that's enough to sway Khan's decision in our favor.
But what if its not? That's what really irks me.
Quote:You still don't get it. You think his dealing with Southeast Toyota was a one time thing...don't you?Obviously you don't get it. An old business platform doesn't mean you have ties to a city.

I'll try one more example to help you understand.
I own a rental property in Houston. I've only been to Houston once to sign the deed. A property manager takes care of the daily issues.
What ties do I have to Houston?

2 + 2 doesn't equal 5 no matter how you get to spin it.
Quote:One last time.
Car business in 1985 does not equal football team in 2013.
But maybe it does in your mind.
Quote:The first large contract his company landed was almost 30 years ago with Southeast Toyota in Jacksonville. He's been doing business here since the mid 80's.
Quote:What is this supposed to be an example of exactly? Your lack of knowledge?
Quote:Done..
Next.
JagsQuest you still up?
Quote:Let me re-post what I wrote previously. You might understand this time.
Quote:What does me owning property is Houston have to do with my ties to the city of Houston?
Not a damned thing. Its business.
Quote:You still don't get it. You think his dealing with Southeast Toyota was a one time thing...don't you?I need a good laugh.....why don't you give me your definition of a "tie"
Quote:You're trying too hard and you aren't keeping up.
