smh.....just wow.....society....
It's their own fault they were killed. They shouldn't have been robbing anything and this is what happened.
Having said that, death is absolutely not an adequate punishment for robbery and to not expect a mother to grieve for her child is just moronic.
A mother of someone who gets shot and killed complains and suddenly it's whining? I'd want the shooting death of my child investigated properly too, regardless of whether he was being a "thug".

I concur.

Well, they were "armed" robbers so don't know if I would go as far as your 3rd sentence. Of course, I don't know the entire situation so hard to have an opinion, but if someone robs me with a weapon, then I assume they intend to use that weapon.

Greiving is one thing.......saying "its not fair" is [BLEEP].
He was an ARMED convict and he got dead because of it. Too bad. Next time raise a good boy and maybe he won't get dead.
Maybe if the "Mother" raised them a little better they wouldn't have been in a situation where they could have been shot and killed. I have absolutely no sympathy for them.

exactly. :thanks:

Yes he was armed, but as the article states, he was leaving when he was shot. Now I know none of us have all the facts but if the robbers were leaving the store when they were shot then it seems fair to reason they were shot in the back.
Unless they were trying to be movie stars and shot at the store owner as they walked backwards.

Being an armed convict does not supersede a person's right to life. Nor does it mean that the case can or should be closed without proper investigation.
The situation would be different if the store clerk was the one doing the shooting since he would actively be defending his own life, but reading the (woefully inadequate) story it was a bystander who wasn't being directly threatened who opened fire.

When you break the law as they did, you give up your so called "Rights"

Exactly, unfortunately stand your ground laws means shooting someone in the back is completely legal as long as they're "acting threatingly".

They had a Gun for crying out loud, how much more threatening do you need to be?
Quote:When you break the law as they did, you give up your so called "Rights"
Even your right to bear arms? Because last I checked people who think like you were vehemently opposed to background checks for firearms.
I've mention this before; right are inalienable. A person's actions, no matter how horrendous, can not result in them losing their rights.

You have absolutely no idea how she raised her kid. Maybe in your family everyone is an automaton but the last time I checked, people have free will and make their own decisions.
I don't feel any sympathy either because I do not know any of these people. It is just a news story and to be frank, we have all become desensitized to this type of thing because it has been happening as long as there has been civilization.
Despite that, to act the way you and TMD are in regards to this issue shows a callous disregard for human life. People make mistakes and some things just don't deserve death. Murderers, child molesters, rapists, are all scumbags that I don't mind if they are killed. That may seem to contradict my statement but these types of people ruin lives. Stealing hardly qualifies.

Possession of a gun is reason enough to kill someone? Because that puts you and a lot of people you know in a lot of danger. The point here is that stand your ground laws having given people free range to use guns as judge, jury and executioner instead of the PERSONAL protection they're supposed to be used for.

False.
Seems like the same people who cry about the government taking their rights away, want to do the same to UNCONVICTED persons they deem deserving. What happened to due process?
I have a hard time feeling sorry for the deceased, but I am not ready to allow every gun-toting Bubba to go all renegade on whomever he feels deserves it.
