Quote:Lewis is so awful and overpaid that I am going to be upset if we don't get draft picks for him.

We got a 5th in exchange for an absolute nothing in Mike Thomas. He was overpaid, too....At least Marcedes has some track record of past success.

I'd gladly take that same 5th rounder for Marcedes.

The front office in GB is a lot smarter than Det.

well, there are also 30 other NFL FO's that Caldwell should be doing his due diligence with.

Only a week to go until Oct 29, at 4pm.
I wouldn't mind seeing the trade happen if the Jags could get a 5th or better  - but it won't.

What veteran players do you think could be traded to some other team before the deadline?

Pozluzsny, Babin, Marcedes, MoJo

Quote:Word is that Packers TE Jermichael Finley might be out the rest of the season.

We have no use for this oaf and he's not part of our future, I'd hope.

I'd take a 5th rounder in return and be quite happy.

Hopefully Caldwell is doing his due diligence.

You know what this trade makes sense and for those who are criticizing TMD just for the fun of it needs to get a darn life. In fact, both team would be winners because in the packers case they would get a guy who would have a renew excitement in his career because he would be on a contending team with a top level QB. We would also be a winner in the deal because it would eliminate another bad contract for a guy whose clearly not in our future plans with this team. I'll rather get a draft pick for him and turn around in the second round of next years draft and select Eric Ebron from UNC to go with Blackmon, shorts and hopefully teddy bridgewater.  I think Ebron will be a star in the league and would be a massive upgrade over lewis who in turn would help greenbay with not only with their o-line issues but in the passing game.

Marcedes to GB and MJD to Dallas.

Shorts to Indy.

Serious question:   What makes you think he's not shopping a few vets?  There have already been a few anonymous sources saying the Jags contacted other teams about MJD.  If nothing happens between now and the deadline, that won't necessarily mean Caldwell didn't conduct due diligence.

Are u freakin serious? Shorts is apart of our youth movement and only 25 years old.
I could actually see this trade happening.

That & the fact that they are probably gun shy now after getting robbed blind on the Richardson deal.

I wouldn't trade Shorts for anything below a high second rounder, and (Indy doesn't have that anyway).

Shorts is probably more valuable to the Jags than what we would get in return for him.

If the Colts were willing to give the Jags a 2015 1st rounder though? Bye Cecil. Just slot Mike Brown into his spot.
Have you all not put the pieces together? We're bashing Lewis for being good in 2010 with a real QB and bad since with Blaine Gabbert..

Put the pieces together before saying how bad he is.

You would take a 2nd for Shorts?

What have we ever done with a 2nd round pick to justify trading a good WR away for one? Andre Branch? pfft.

I did quantify that as a "high second" which would imply a top 45 (overall) pick.

To answer the question - MoJo? Tony Brackens....Rashean Mathis.... :whistling:

Can we turn 4 seventh rounders into a 5th rounder?

I kid, I kid.

Maybe.

You are kidding because Mike stinking Thomas was not only overpaid at the time, but was also a nothing, and fetched a 5th rounder in return.

Jonathan Cyprien?    (BTW, Gene Smith was fired.)

Don't get me wrong  - I don't want to trade Shorts either.

wait, so which side of the argument are you supporting? Laughing

Maybe Smith is better than Caldwell?

Or maybe Detroit overvalued a once productive receiver in a manner similar to the way the Jags do once free agency starts.

I forgot - what did we do with that pick?
