Why is Caldwell waiting!!! If this doesnt happen by the trade deadline he's an idiot!!!

I mean he already got schooled by Baltimore because they traded Bryant M. to the Dolphins for an 8th round pick.
Quote:So Green Bay trading for a player that's played maybe 25 snaps this year 'makes sense'? Gotcha.

So Detroit trading a 5th for an overpaid WR who was essentially doing nothing that year "made sense"? Gotcha.
Help me out guys, so..... if by 4 pm on the 29th of Oct. Caldwell does not make trade that TMD made up he is *OFFICIALLY* a idiot? Do I have this staight? Is that when all the other professionals in the league simultaneously point Caldwells direction and laugh at his complete incompetency?

No had you actually read the thread I stated that Caldwell needs to make at least one more deal involving veteran(s) for picks by the deadline. I don't care which specific player it is or even what he gets in return at this point. But at 0-7 and rebuilding, he'd be mis-managing again, to simply stand pat. Theres enough contending teams out there with needs that some of our veterans could fill. A trade before then shouldn't be that hard to put together.

Lol. You say a lot of absurd things, but using Detroit's front office history to predict Green Bay's front office decisions might be the most absurd thing yet.

"One of the worst run sports franchises, ever, did it.... so maybe one of the best run sports franchises, ever, might!".

Detroit also pulled off one of the better trades in recent memory (1, 3, 6 for Roy Williams) ,,,,,with that same front office that gave up the 5th for Mike Thomas....

Go back to school.

Even if its not the Packers, to think the Jags getting a 5th from another team for Marcedes is impossible is just NFL ignorance on your part. You just want him to stay here for whatever odd reason. Thats the real root of the argument for the people bashing the idea of trading Marcedes.

Can we all agree to allow TMD to set the standard of what constitutes a smart GM? I mean, if Dave isn't on this board talking notes of TMD's suggestions, well he obviously is not too bright.

Nope

Yep.

Martin Mayhew was GM in both instances.

Ummmmmm....was Thomas injured? Try again.

You only made this thread to get center stage.

So lets trade him Jeremy Ebert for a 5th.

Worked before, and you say itll work with GB, so what are we waiting for?

Noting that once upon a time a team did something stupid does not = a good chance we can find someone to do something stupid again. Its not impossible, but its unlikely and therefore not something you can use to judge a GMs performance as it is reliant on another team doing something totally stupid.

Nobody has stated in this thread that they want to keep Lewis, I am willing to bet everyone on here would be happy with any pick for Lewis. You are just trying to save face in a losing argument.
I actually like Lewis.  I don't know why he gets such a bad rap around these parts.  He is a good blocker.  Did anyone notice how much better the run game looked last week?

Off topic, but every time TMD writes 'ignorant' does anyone else think of this?

oh, wait.....you were being serious...

Yeah I am being serious.  Trust me, the way you feel about players has no influence whatsoever on the way I feel about players.

I think it is funny you talk about Lewis like he is garbage, but then start a thread that says trade him for draft picks.

Cute emoticon.

The problem with your logic is you think other teams will make stupid moves. The Roy Williams trade was incredibly stupid, as was the Mike Thomas trade.

Those type of trades shouldnt be used as reference points.
Quote:Maybe. :whistling:
I'm calling it. You're Jeff Prosser.
