Quote:While it wouldn't make sense, Caldwell could easily just come out and say "Nope, Browns offered ____, we passed."

Teams dont discuss who they talk to. Look at the post above you. Its just the Browns trying to save face.

<p class="">Per Browns saying they didn't know Monroe was available, they called <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Jaguars&src=hash'>#<b>Jaguars</b></a> before trade w/ Ravens was done. Offer wasn't as good.

Quote:Same old apologists spewing the same old rhetoric.

Rhetoric?

I guess we should all just believe every rumor that national writers put out there on Twitter.

Its in the article they offered Greg Little and another player, but they didnt have time to try to get a better deal done, Jags Ravens were further along

EDIT**   BROWNS not Broncs...

 I'm speechless.

Quote:2nd day is 2nd and 3rd round

Quote:And the Browns were willing to assume his full contract....

Quote:Adam Schefter just reported it too, he said some teams were not happy and think jaguars didnt get enough, basicly saying it was a friendly deal Caldwell helping the Ravens.

Quote:So Caldwell had a better offer on the table and decided "nah" I'll go with something worse.

Okay.

If Caldwell has some contacts within the Ravens, its possible, U CONN.....If true the Ravens best return the favor when we need it...
Quote:Did you even read? Thats not how it happen, Caldwell was not shopping Monroe but got an offer, while things were being worked out with the Ravens the Browns found out and started trying to negotiate with the Jaguars, but the Jaguars were too far in with the Ravens and didnt want to back out.

What Caldwell shouldve did start calling around and seeing if he could get better value before pulling the trigger.

So then the Browns called and were all "Hey look we've got a great offer!" and Caldwell looked at the Ravens, and then at the Browns, and down at all the paperwork he had already filled out and after a long pause said... "ehhhh...nah... I already wrote all this stuff up..."

Okay.

Okay.

Seems legit.

It's worrisome if it's true though that the Browns made a better offer.  Caldwell would now be on very bad terms with the Browns. We all remember how Gene Smith couldn't trade back and had to take LOLuLOLu.

Though forming relationships with other GM's can be pretty important as well.  "You scratch my back, I scratch your back".  I remember the Patriots and Eagles making a lot of trades, and one year they swapped picks -- for absolutely no other reason than to make a trade.

And we are done here.
Monroe made it clear he wanted to go to Baltimore, his wife is from there and he went to UVA.

Ryan O'Halloran was just asked about the Browns/second day rumor on Twitter and had a simple response:

<a class="" href='http://twitter.com/ryanohalloran'><b>Ryan O'Halloran</b> <span><span>@ryanohalloran</span> </span> </a>

<p class="">Not true.

Okay.
Well if he traded our best young lineman for a 4th and 5th and offered to pay for most of his salary just without check other teams to see if they wanted to make any offers just because Ozzie called him.....even though he had no plans to trade Monroe in the first place......then anything is possible.

This^  people say players have no say so but they do.  Monroe wanted to go to Bal. and he probably didnt want to play RT.
LaCanfora is right about a lot of things, but I can't help but question his credibility ever since that time he tried to convince people on twitter that the Jags were relocating to London.

Being long-time friends with Domonique Foxworth, who is the current NFLPA president, we've talked about this a few times on a casual level, and we both agree that there isn't a snowball's chance in hell of that happening.

This one has more substance than the Browns report. But it still makes it hard to believe when he just reported a CLE deal that was false.

If that is the case then im pretty sure Khan wont be too happy because its his 2 mil. that he is going to have to pay.
Quote:2nd day..I read it wrong.. Still the fact remains.
You have got to be kidding right?

You were dead wrong, but still willing to run with this? Wow.
