lol at the caldwell apologists

Oh yeah, apologists. This thread was started on false pretenses. And unless you don't believe a guy paid to cover the team for a living in O'Halloran, the Lacanfora rumor is untrue anyway.

Quote:This one has more substance than the Browns report. But it still makes it hard to believe when he just reported a CLE deal that was false.

The one you quote has zero substance.

I made it up, just to show how easily people believe rumors.

"lol at the people who trust our own beat writers with team sources over LaCanfora"

EDIT**   BROWNS not Broncs...

 I'm speechless.

It wasn't a second. It was a third according to LaCanfora on CBS a few minutes ago, and Cleveland jumped into the mix late in the process.

Ah, well you got me!

Keep telling myself what? The original title of this thread said the Broncos were willing to give a second round pick for Monroe. Then he changed it to the Browns and a second round pick. The tweet actually said Browns and second day pick. And O'Halloran shot it down just reiterating what he said a few days back. Lacanfora is an experienced beat writer who is with the team every day. Why would you believe some random tweet Lacanfora sent over O'Halloran?
Seems like a couple teams after the fact are saying they're willing to part with higher draft picks. Easy to say you'd part with something when you don't need to prove it.

Quote:It's worrisome if it's true though that the Browns made a better offer.  Caldwell would now be on very bad terms with the Browns. We all remember how Gene Smith couldn't trade back and had to take LOLuLOLu.

Though forming relationships with other GM's can be pretty important as well.  "You scratch my back, I scratch your back".  I remember the Patriots and Eagles making a lot of trades, and one year they swapped picks -- for absolutely no other reason than to make a trade.

Thats a good point, something I overlooked. Ugh...

sigh....

because if that was the terms of the trade, theyd be like what i couldve given them a better deal. meaning, monroe had more value

Ahahahahahhahahahaahahahahahahahhahaha Royce, you win.
Regardless of the rumors the fact still remains that Caldwell never shopped Monroe and hastily moved him like a rookie G.M. Very reminiscent of Gene Smith and his dopey moves. Almost four weeks until the trade deadline plus we had another out aka franchise tag. But hey, lets not take that into consideration being that the Jags never make a bad move and every move they have ever made has been proven to be for the greater good of the organization. It's not possible for Caldwell to make a bad move, I have to stand behind him 100 percent because anything Jaguar is a move I support.

That was beautiful
They also inquired about Levi Brown.  Apparently the Cardinals didn't pick up the phone either.  I bet they'd have given better than a conditional 7th though!

Seems to me their reasons for inquiring may have been to stop their divisional rivals from getting the players.

Actually, thats not true. There have been reports that he contacted the Steelers, Cardinals, and Browns. So you grasping at straws here.
