Quote:Sure I would have to pick Luck among afcs qbs. But that might be the lowest bar in the nfl. I was expecting a lot more with the "second coming of Peyton manning and dominate the division for another 10 years" type qb. He's just been average to me in everything he does and his accuracy is just plain bad. He really hasn't lived up to that hype and if I had to rank him among nfl qbs he would be around 13-15 range. As a jaguar fan I am just happy he isn't another manning and your gm keeps wasting first round picks. Your team isn't getting any younger and that window will close faster than you realize. Love it and keep up the good work colts!
See its comments like this that make me question whether you have football knowledge or just spew out nonsense. Every team in this league besides the pack broncos saints and pats would pick luck to start their franchise with! The guy is a winner and its proven. As much as i love manning and he will go down as the greatest to ever play. All his years here we have one trophy. Not his fault team management sucked but thats the way it goes. This current team is built to win with a bruising run game and a stout defense and also i qb that can hang 300+ 3 tds on any team. If you can read i stated that his comp % is 65% that is among thr best so far this season. The window isnt closing. Its wide open. All our skill positions are youmg besides reggie. Everything i stated in my previous post is proven fact.

Not so fast there.  Luck is 12th in passer rating.  22nd in yards.  25th in yards per game.  Tied for 18th for TDs (on pace for a whopping 20 TD season).  15th in Yards per attempt.  21st in passing attempt.

Yet, in the top 100 players in the NFL list he is listed as the 8th best QB in the NFL, 23rd best player overall.  You just put him as the 5th best QB.  That sounds like overhyped to me.  Peyton Manning threw 2 more touchdowns his first game than Luck has the whole season.  The Broncos have the makeup of a team that could run the ball/play defense just like the colts, but they throw the ball all over the place.

I still think drafting Luck and cutting Peyton was the right decision.  But when you pretty much say you run an offense that doesn't feature the passing game, questions about the QB's "eliteness" are definately not unfounded.

This is a Colts team that is transitioning more toward a ball control offense.  That, pretty much by definition, means a less pass-happy offense.

It basically means playing defense by keeping the other offense off the field for longer periods of time.

Week one, the Colts only managed to hold the ball for 27:13, but that has been steadily increasing.  Week 2 was 30:34.  Week 3 was 36:25.  And last week against the Jags, the Colts held the ball for 36:38.

The Colts don't rank too highly when it comes to the passing game, but currently rank 4th in rushing offense.  This is not a team designed to pummel you 38-10.  This is a team designed to punch you in the mouth 20-7.  Basically, this is a team designed to win, pretty much as a team effort.  If the Colts DO get in a shootout (which could easily happen a couple times in the next 4 games with the Seahawks and Broncos coming to town), the Colts DO have a QB that can do that, if need be (as proven a few times last year), in Luck.  The Colts haven't fully opened up the passing game yet, because they haven't needed to.

Things get tossed back and forth. That's how forums work, it's not called being defensive. It's calling someone **********.... well, **********.

If right now I started a thread in main forum section that stated something along the lines "Jaguars will never win another game. Ever. Not this year or any other year going forward! (and then provided some made up facts to go along with it)" Do you think that would go over well for me?
Probably would in the current mood actually

You? No. Way.
Coltswarriors I'm just jealous that you guys have the almighty Luck.

He definitely throws more accurately to Jags players than Gabbert does, although usually gets bailed out by a flag

First time you've ever made logical sense.

You should be rewarded with a prize or something.

And I am good with all that. Thanks, the "objective" view is noticed/appreciated.  ... Luck is not even in the ballpark of Manning in terms of where Manning went from draft day, who is? ... But I also see the raw talent that gave people reason to think Luck could have Manning type level of talent straight out of College. Manning out of College, not the really good Manning we know now.

We all know "IF" Brees "was" going to be Brees type of good, he would have went #1 overall.
We all know "IF" Marino "was" going to be Marino type of good, he would have went #1 overall.
We all know "IF" Rogers "was" going to be Rogers type of good, he would have went #1 overall.
We all know "IF" Roethlisberger "was" going to be Roethlisberger type of good, he would have went #1 overall.
We all know "IF" Favre "was" going to be Favre type of good, he would have went #1 overall.
We all know "IF" Brady "was" going to be Brady type of good, he would have went #1 overall.

Anyone disagree?

Luck does not need to be Manning, Luck needs to be Luck. The closest player in that elite group that I would consider Luck to be comparative to? ... Roethlisberger, but a more athletic Roethlisberger (Which opens itself up to a whole lot of additional thoughts ... some other time).

You see the point I was trying to make? ... Really, I am asking ... Left to take a leak, and never regained the thought path.

You almost seem human, some times ... But I'm not falling for it just yet.

If they had to choose an MVP for that game for the Colts, it would have to be Jason Babin.  3 Offside/NZI calls, 2 PFs and a Hands to the face call that all directly led to Colt first downs.  All in all, I think Babin contributed 55 yards to the Colts' cause.  There may have been more called on 58, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head.

Can my prize be to never go to Indy? Saying that my brother went recently and really liked it...strange man

Well, since that prize would also be rewarding the great folks of Indiana...

Sure thing!

Don't be so mean spirited. It's pretty obvious i'm a closet Colts homer who made a terrible mistake in picking a team back in 03
Hows that big serving of crow taste?!
They played well for sure but It seems it was perfect time to play seattle. Not sure why it was a safety instead of a TD too

Haha sorry but still not impressed. The Seahawks are a totally different team on the road. They almost lost to the panthers on the road. Anybody can win a regular season game. I still don't see them winning more than a playoff game, if that.
Thats cuz your a jags fan hahahahaha

Well, not everybody......
Wow, that is one freaky good Seattle football team. Watching them live ... You really get a great sense of how they create their own magic. Just one hell of a game, I'm spent.

It could happen, we've been talking about it all week.
So you're not impressed with an organization that had a two win season and immediately went back to the playoffs a year after.  Two years after, they may already be the best team in the division AGAIN.  Dude........seriously?  How can you not be impressed?  It's like a guy who dates a supermodel and shrugs it off "I'm not impressed.."
