Quote:So you're not impressed with an organization that had a two win season and immediately went back to the playoffs a year after. Two years after, they may already be the best team in the division AGAIN. Dude........seriously? How can you not be impressed? It's like a guy who dates a supermodel and shrugs it off "I'm not impressed.."

You were not a two win team two years ago. You tanked the season which is completely fine, but don't say you were a two win team. That team could've won about 5-6 games with a competent qb.

Also, being the best team in our division is a very low bar. Just like luck is the divisions best qb.

Who is "you"?  I'm a Jaguars fan.  The Colts are an elite organization and I'm not going to try and pretend they aren't.  Andrew Luck isn't the only reason they are winning at the moment.  They have a very strong team, and no, I don't think being the best team in this division is a low bar this season.  The Texans still have a lot of talent and the Titans are playing better.  The Texans looked like they were going to dominate this division for years, and that window may have already closed.

Elite organization? Please stop that's terrible. They just traded a first round pick for a fifth round talent. You actually thought the texans were going to "dominate for years" with schaub? You might be a jags fan but you might be trying a little too hard to have an unbiased opinion.

And the Jaguars show it's very easy to find a competent QB! Why havent the jags mortgaged their future to get a competent QB this season? It's apparently real easy to do.
That game was INSANE... Wow. Glad we pulled it off.

In other news, I can't stop laughing at this thread.  Laughing

It's not at all difficult to see what happened to the Colts. Manning was the team - period. They has no running game even with manning, the OLine had been bad for years, and the D was built to take advantage of a lead. The coaching staff (especially Caldwell) was a joke and figure head. How many games do you think Jax would win if you just swapped Gabbert for Manning? With manning you'd be a 10+ win team. He is really that good.

Probably because we are tanking for a franchise qb (bridgewater) and not settling for a middle of the road qb like freeman.
Quote:If the Colts beat the Seahawks, the discussion is closed.  The colts are the real deal.

If the Seahawks win, though... the OP is probably right.  Good enough, but not great.

To be decided Sunday!

I guess the colts are for real.

How...

how...

boring.

If your definition of tanking is "didn't mortgage the future for a mediocre short term solution at QB", then you are right - Colts tanked. And so are the Jags and 3-4 teams every year. Whatever. Colts have their bright future under contract. We will see if Jags are able to do the same. Just remember that Teddy's a failure - he hasn't even won a playoff game yet!

Would you like to provide evidence to the contrary?  We're talking about a team that won a division almost EVERY YEAR since it existed.  That's almost impossible in the modern NFL era.  Playoffs practically ever year.  And they are setup to do it again.

look i understand your butt hurt because your team is the worst in the nfl, and it makes you feel better to talk trash.....  that being said luck has better stats and wins then manning 5 games into his second season.  Why don't you watch tape of manning his rookie year people were calling him a bust lol .  Oh and bride water is another running qb that won't be a good throwing qb , and johny football is good but has a huge ego like rg3 and it will be the down fall of him worring about partying and girls then reading the playing book tanking a season does not guarrentee you will get a franchise qb it could take another 20 years to find one....   good luck though while the colts knocked off the  niners and the seahawks 2 superbowl contending teams standing at 4-1 in first place in the division .  Maybe you should check the seahawks on the road record 5-1 coming into indy.....

and the colts have a lot of young talent coming up  lets see :dywane allen big time tight end on ir this season had huge rookie season ,coby fleener ,lazon brazil big play ability.  vick ballard young running back on ir ty hilton will be a star . heyward bey still young has been showing new life in indy  josh chapman 2nd year nose tackle starting playing big rick jean fransois has been coming up on the d line delono howell  rookie saftey has been playing lights jerrell freeman the middle line backer has been playing at a probowl level out vontea davis playing lights out darouis butler  greg toler and bojern werner willl be a star he was coming on before he got hurt  he had 13 sacks 8 batted balls at the line and was great against the run in college and bethea is 29 still prime   not to metion hugh thortan coming in on the o-line has played very well  lots of young talent coming up and the colts  general manager knows how to draft talent

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSjKohsxU_Q look objectivly at luck highlights and tell me he doesn't look like he will be a good nfl qb

Bride water is a running QB? You definitely just lost all credibility on that one.
Quote:Are you seriously complimenting your defense when they played vs Blaine gabbert??? Haha just stop.

The reason I threw in Werner is because he is not a first round talent and probably would have slipped into late second round and that you will not have a first round pick next year. So as a jag fan I say to you keep on wasting your first round pick, it makes it that much easier for us to catch up.

What I am trying to point out is that colts will never be good enough with the pieces they have to ever be a serious threat in the playoffs if they keep up the trend they are in.

I guess we can just agree to disagree on luck.
You seriously need your head checked. Did your mom do drugs when she was pregnant?

The Colts.

As the IndyStar's Bob Kravitz once said...  this year's Colts are supposed to go 6-10 after last year's 4-12.  That is generally how the 'rebuilding' process goes.

In one offseason following the 2-14 season, the Colts turned it around and made the playoffs at 11-5 the following year with a completely overturned roster and a brand new staff.

Having beaten 2 top 5 teams in the NFL in 3 weeks  (SF was 4th on most power rankings at the end of week 2, Seattle is/was ranked number 2 in most power rankings going into this past weekend) basically indicates that the Colts are, themselves, one of the top teams in the league (I suspect the Colts will be ranked in the top 5 in this week's power rankings, right behind most/all of the undefeated teams).

THAT is an elite organization.
