Didn't really have anything better to come back with, eh?

No worries.  You have convinced yourself you're the smartest man in any room you enter.  Unfortunately, everyone else in the room looks at you and laughs.  You're too busy with self puffery to recognize it.
Quote:Blackmons' instability??....as said, Shorts is probably more likely to get another concussion and have to retire, than Blackmon is to getting another suspension. Concussions usually are progressive, meaning the more you sustain, the easier the next one is to get.
LOL. Yes his instability!!!    You think Shorts being a concussion casualty is more likely than Blackmon doing something stupid again. I don't.  Whatever. Two people - two opinions. Get over it.

Thanks for the concussion breakdown though - I was really unclear on that since it hasn't been an issue for this team or the entire league at all over the past 3 years.  Was there a lawsuit or something?  Or like seventeen specials on ESPN and NFL network.  Wait.... didn't we have a few threads about concussion research studies that our former LB took part in?  Somehow - after all of that - I didn't know that damage from concussions was progressive.
Absolutely not. He is an absolutely vital piece of the rebuilding and fits perfectly in any contending teams profile.

Combined with Blackmon we have a championship caliber duo .

Our Jags had one of the best WR duo's in league history from 1996 to 2001....how many SB titles did that get us?

Its more about having the better QB than the opponent than having a great WR duo.

Name me 3-0 Tom Brady's receivers rght now in 5 seconds! Go!.......bet you can't....

Assuming the Jags keep playing like this we can have Bridgewater AND CS3 AND Blackmon.

And is that bet open to all takers or just JagsQuest?

Because:
Kenbrell Thompkins

Danny Amendola

Julian Edelman

Josh Boyce

Aaron Dobson
There they are.

admit it, you didn't snap them answers down off the top of your head...
Keep CS3.  He is still young and a good player

Other than keeping Blackmon, draft Bridgewater - and the rest of the WR won't matter. Bridgewater will make them, as opposed to needing CSIII to "make" other game manager level QB.

I'll admit it....I did know those off the top of my head.

On topic: TMD, I'm completely with you in the MJD thread, but not here. Even with the concussion issue looming, I think we've been starved for so long at wide receiver that letting Shorts go creates a hole that just isn't necessary right now. I'd like Future Jag QB to have a weapon or two at his disposal.
Absolutely not. why make us worse than before? When we bring in our QB next year, he is going to need WR. Shorts and Blackmon is a good combo, add Sanders and Brown, thats a solid WR unit. We stink even with shorts, no need to watch one of our best players leave.
It's official, the 2014 internet bet is in folks, and TMD has gone all in on his "Teddy fixes everything" mantra.

Quote:If we beat Cleveland, which we'll almost certainly do without them having Josh Gordon, then we'll probably finish below them in draft order.
Id take that bet TMD. Cleveland will beat us, Hoyer is better already then Henne and Gabbert

If you hover your mouse where someone's sig is a "X" will appear in the right corner. Click that then you can ignore that persons sig or all of them.

Understand that I am not saying get rid of Cecil Shorts for peanuts.

I would only want to do this deal if it was for a 1st rounder+  from Detroit. (or other team). The idea is to get some WR desperate team to overpay.

As long as Blackmon is still here, the Jags WR corps will be fine going forward as long as the right QB (Teddy) is drafted. He will make the other WR nobodys into impact players. Just like most of the great QB do.

a franchise QB does fixes the offense pirk....which in turn helps with the defense since they won't be on the field as much, and playing with the lead more makes things easier for the defense.

no way you would get a 1st. Maybe if we are lucky and can sucker some team in, like the Patriots, a 2nd. Hes probably worth a 3rd. And i still would say no.

Never say never...

so what if Detroit did pony up the 1st ....would that change your mind??

and BTW, If Blackmon is here next year, Bridgewater makes even a guy like Ace Sanders into an impact player. Much like T. Y. Hilton from Luck.

Shorts is more expendable (for the right price) than you think. Caveat: - as long as the right QB is drafted.

Thank you! I didn't see that. Was trying to think of how I'd eventually explain Tommy's signature to my boss when he happens to pass by.

For a first rounder?

Mercy, yes.
Cecil is average in everything that he does. Average hands, speed, and route running with below average strength. Cecil isn't even a top 40 wr but ppl are acting like he's aj green. If somebody is offering us a 3rd or 4th for him, I say take it and run and see what Caldwell can do with it.
