His head coach bradley failed...
His Left Tackle failed....
His QB looks to have failed....
His #3 Defensive end has not lived up to his status?
This team still has many holes after all of the rebuilding....

Caldwell done?
I really, really want him gone before the 2018 draft.
He's been done. That's why Tom is here. Where've you been?
If Andy Dalton was the QB, what would the Jags record be this year?
15-1

I agree that he was demoted the minute Tom Coughlin was hired but now he should just be off the team.  The guy is trash.

How do you have 4 top 5 picks and an open checkbook and build the trash we saw tonight?

Then if the Jags would go 15-1 with Dalton at QB then I don't think Caldwell should be fired. He messed up a lot of his initial decisions but I think he has learned a lot and is becoming a good GM.

What has Coughlin done? Not much, its the same exact team as last year. Tom didn't recognize Blake was toast. Tom didn't fix the line with all his experience and connections. Dave/Tom/Marrone it's a collection of misfits guiding misfits. Jacksonville=Washington Generals, paid to be canon fodder for the good teams. We are the warm climate retirement home where all NFL players and coaches come to die. The elephant graveyard of the league. The culture is bad, the franchise is bad. This does not take nostradamus, this is reality looking at the last decade and the state of the team today.

Hey, hey, ho, ho, Dave Caldwell has to go!
Caldwell's job was always going to depend on the success of Bortles and if Bortles is a success then everything else is forgiven. If Henne starts this season then that's it for Caldwell.

Agree with the point about Coughlin, but I think part of the reason for keeping Caldwell was because Coughlin doesn't want to do all the work.
This whole staff is done. Same HC, OC, DC, different players, still the same old jaguars. 1 yard per carry running game looked the same. Inept passing game the same. Pass rush the same. Making opposing qbs look like tom brady the same. Shanking kicks the same. Drop passes the same.

Fans like you are a joke. You won't even let a new staff make it to its first regular season game before calling for their heads. I'm done with fans like you. Shut up and get lost.
Here's another thought.

Has there ever been an GM with a worse record than Caldwell?

He's had FIVE top-five picks now (plus all the high-end picks in the following rounds) and with a handful of exceptions they've failed to produce.

Can any other GM boast such an impressive list of failures, given the opportunities available to him?

Gene Smith was far worse. The only reason his record was better is because Jack Del Rio was a better coach than we gave him credit for.

Bradley, on the other hand, has ruined a good amount of players because he didn't push them the way most coaches do.

Terrible coaching prevents potentially good players from living up to their ability. Still, I will ding DC for hiring Bradley...
He should have been gone in the off-season. Actually it was quite obvious, but Khan is oblivious.

Lol, new staff, the HC, DC, OC  were part of Gus Bradleys staff

I'll add that he drafted a running back with chronic foot injuries #4 overall.

If Bortles had turned it around Caldwell would probably survive. I'm not seeing that happening right now. Too much need reaching.

Now the Jaguars need to be strong and not trade the next GM's picks for more backup level QBs, which is the only kind of QB you'll get in a trade.
Caldwell worse than Gene Smith! Amazing isn't it?
The fact that Dave selected Smoot, who by The way looks awful, over a guard when there was good options still on the board says a lot.
