ahahaha. A little literal but yes, I would actually not be completely against this, although its a little redundant. We really do need OL help. You can have all the studs in teh world, but if you cant give your QB 3 seconds or your RB a hole, your studs won't ever get the ball or gain a lot of yards.

This is pretty funny.  Laughing

If it played out like this in 2018 this would be the hopefuls I would want with your example.

RD1 - QB - Sam Darnold - USC
RD2 - OL - Martez Ivey - UF
RD3 - QB - Chase Litton - Marshall
RD4 - OL - Maea Teuhema - LSU
RD5 - QB - Luke Falk - Washington St.
RD6 - OL - Orlando Brown - Oklahoma
RD7 - QB - Anu Solomon - Baylor

Realistically I know a lot of things will happen between now and next year's draft. But those players are all ideal in any of those rounds depending on how their respective seasons play out and whether or not they declare or not.

Luke Falk in the 5th is insane....

He was tabbed as a 1st or 2nd rounder if he had come out early this year...

I don't think it's that far fetched if a lot of other QBs declare. Most places I've seen downgrade him due to size, system and lack of competition.

I really like him. I see him as a RD2 - RD4 candidate but a lot of his value is up to this year and his fellow classmates. If Rudolph, Litton and Mayfield struggle you could see a dominoe effect of them all falling a bit or getting lost in the shuffle.

The needs for QB may be lower in 2018 since we've seen a lot of them taken early the last two years.

If you need a QB... draft 7 QB's... if you miss on all of them.. oh well.. the team already stinks. Nothing changes... everyone still gets paid...

David, really mate? You wouldn't complain about this

What if needs change drastically by season's end?  Care to allow this one to play out?

Caldrac, whatevs mate. You've come to realize 2017 is a throw away year, a fortnight before live snaps? How did you come about this astute realization? They haven't thrown away enough years yet?

It's the same team we've seen the last ten years hoss. Nothings changed. No push from the offensive line. Poor play at QB. No pressure from the defensive line. Lack of depth in the secondary.

This team will be lucky to win six games this year on what appears to be the weakest schedule they've had in years at least on paper.

I appreciate your optimism and your positive outlook but it's becoming increasingly hard to find a well cut diamond in a steaming pile of hog [BLEEP] personally as a fan.

I've made my peace with it. If I am wrong. Great. That'll make me happy to be wrong for the first time since I graduated high school in 2007. Because thats how long it's been since this team was worth a lick.

#Apathy. Will pray for you mate, and ya you are going to be very wrong. Watch. They are going to shock ya. Thank me later.

Please save your prayers for the team.  Rolleyes

And, again, I hope they shock the piss out of me this year. Would be a great start of hopefully turning around a ten year slump. I'll be the first one on the breadline to thank you if they manage to break even this year and go 8 - 8. Anything less than that is a failure.
Round One: Darnold/Rudolph/Rosen
Round Two: Connor Williams OT
Round Three: Martez Ivey OG

Connor Williams will be a top 5 overall pick in this coming draft. He's the best LT prospect I've seen in quite a while and he's my favorite overall prospect going into the 2017 season. I wish we could get a franchise QB in round one and draft Williams, essentially moving Robinson to RT, but it won't happen. I believe Williams has a shot to be the next Joe Thomas.
Agreed Connor Williams isn't going to make it to the 2nd. He's who I want in the first if we get Cousins

If we were in position to do so, I'd almost be tempted to take him with our first round pick and then trade back into the first round using future picks to get a QB. That's how much I like Williams.

That's me at this point as well. We've struck out three times going QB in RD1 now. Time to change it up. Maybe we can get lucky next year like CIN did with Green day one and Dalton on day two or OAK did with Mack on day one and Carr on day two.

I would be thrilled to see this team land Williams day one and and then maybe day two if Nick Fitzgerald does enough to warrant a 2nd RD pick this year out of Mississippi St go ahead and bring him in. Could be a good player.
So no one here would draft Jackson?
(08-29-2017, 12:36 PM)Jay Carter 904 Wrote: [ -> ]So no one here would draft Jackson?

I would. I like him a little bit more than Darnold and Allen but I just worry about his frame and his play style holding up in the NFL. If he had about 20 more pounds on his frame with that same speed I would be all in.
I am all aboard the Jackson train if we move on from Bortles. I wouldn't move on from Bortles unless he tanks this year, however.
Sign Drew Brees and draft a QB

Not in the first 2 rounds 3 rounds 4 rounds....

No...
I wouldn't mind if they drafted 7 quarterbacks. Genius GMs have drafted back to back DTs, so it can be done.
