You guys can chastise the OP all you want, but the reality is that he isn't the only person doing this. This is pretty big.

We will be cancelling our season tickets tomorrow. We will not allow our American anthem and flag to be disrespected and support the effort in any way. There were millions of ways the players could have voiced their unrest and asked for a forum. But they chose to spit in our face. I could never face another military veteran again if I continued to support such a farce.
Jags - We will miss you. Good luck.

See you Sunday.

It sure is. Over 1000 so far are interested in go to the Boycott Jaguars event at the stadium on Oct 15th 4pm.

I'm not trying to fight. I just don't believe you.

I am curious as to why you felt the need to come to a Jags fan message board to make your proclamation though. Please tell me why.
Because we couldn't be sadder over it and I wanted to hear if other Jags fans felt the same. Wanted to vent. Wanted to see where the pendulum swung. My sister, who attends with myself and my wife (since the beginning), is the one who called last night and said she couldn't be in the stadium if they're on their knees during the anthem. The more we discussed it last night, the madder I got and we decided to free up about $5000 a year and let them kneel all they want. We just won't be there paying to see it.

Doesn't that take the cott out of boycott?

OP, good for you for posting your decision on here. It makes the repercussions of what happened yesterday real.

I'll give all 1,000 of you $0.10 each for your tickets. You won't be needing them anyway, right?
If I were Khan, I'd tell all the players to "take a knee" then I'd bail out of Jacksonville and go to London and watch the franchise increase exponentially in value.

... perfect opportunity to get the hell out of Jax

Maybe because for some fans this is much deeper than you could ever understand.  Have you ever been part of an Honor Guard carrying a coffin from a plane to a hanger where the deceased family waited?  Ever had a sibling killed in action?  Uncle?  A fellow soldier?  How about simply have you ever worn the uniform?  If you cannot answer yes to one of these questions then you simply do not understand.

To the OP, I get it, I understand the anguish however there are 2 more games before the Jags return home.  It is my hope they can make this better for veterans, their families and loved ones.  For me personally I completely understand this past weeks demonstration.  The president overstepped his boundaries and called out group of individuals that have a platform and they used it.
The organization that enforces what is worn and how to act on and off the field to let this go, which is against their written policy, shows that they have severe double standards.

To set focus, they refused the request of the Dallas Cowboys to wear a sticker on their helmet in honor of the five officers that gave their lives to a domestic terrorist at a Black Lives Matter event, and then turn around and allow these low information athletes to criticize the same organizations as well as our military or flag and our country. The same country that gave them opportunities to become millionaires and multi-millionaires. It is shameful, and Trump was right to speak about it.

As for the Jaguars, they are in a military town, I am sure there are many more than 1000 that are offended.

I can and have answered yes to many of your questions. I am myself a veteran. My father was as well. I also know that the Jags go far and beyond for the military in this area.

Hey, to each their own. I will be in my seat. I will stand and honor my countries flag during the anthem, then I will hopefully watch the Jags dismantle the Rams.

The novelty of the NFL would wear off so quick in the UK on a full time basis, I doubt Khan is ready to make that type of commitment.

You served yet cannot understand why a fellow veteran would feel this way?  You served and yet ridicule someone taking this stance?

As you said, to each his own.

And as a side bonus the Jags all stood for the British anthem, so there's no problem there.

Oh I can understand, fight protest with protest I get it. Just seems a little irrational to me after twenty years of fandom.

I don't really see why you bring up being a veteran unless I missed where the OP stated he was one. Ridicule? I think not.

When have the Jaguars, as an organization, been anything other than charitable and welcoming towards veterans and the military?

Since their inception, they have allocated a certain amount of tickets to the military.

They have had several military appreciation days, including halftime ceremonies where new recruits take their oaths on the field.

They have consistently given special recognition to long serving veterans.

They have facilitated surprise reunions between families here in Jacksonville and servicemen serving abroad.

They have established a tradition where, at the start of the 4th quarter, an active duty servicemen rings a large bell to honor the military.

They have explored the possibility of an annual Veteran's Day game, like the Thanksgiving day games in Dallas and Detroit as additional tribute to the veterans and servicemen.

In light of the above, to throw a tantrum, take your ball and go home because the players are protesting police brutality, not the military, the flag, the anthem, etc., is patently silly.

Keep in mind, these demonstrations haven't been anywhere near as high profile and uniform until Trump decided to chime in with his nonsense.  Even his staunchest supporters among the NFL owners said Trump was wrong.

It is big time. The Steelers sent a letter to fans. Lots of fans burning their NFL gear. They really screwed the pooch doing this. Makes the players look like spoiled brats. I personally don't care what they do but they have to be prepared for the drop in attendance and viewership. Without fans they would go bye bye.
This is gonna blow over in a month. Those protesting will eventually decide they can't live without football, especially when they hear people talk about exciting games that they missed. The real question is, what is gonna happen in other leagues like the NBA? I wonder if any of those players will start taking knees or sitting out the national anthem? If that happens, what fall/winter sports will be left for the anti-NFL protesters to watch? Is pro bowling still shown on one of the ESPN channels?

I know this is tongue in cheek, but its pretty much correct.

I have thought this as well.

Hockey has been growing every year. And it was already getting people who were fed up with Goodell softening the league, thats where they will do. I do not believe it will blow over. This has been building up for a while now as the Nfl gets more and more PC. The anthem stand is clearly just the NFL hitting the iceberg.

They have choosen, as have many sports like the NBA to push a 'progressive' agenda and then stomp on anything thats not for years. Tebow kneels? Fined him. Linebacker from bears (Briggs?) wears stars and strips cleats to honor fallen on 9-11? Fine him. Cowboys try to wear sticker honoring police? Disapproved. Kap takes a knee disobeying NFLs anthem policy (see post above if you don't know it)? Crickets. Tavon Austin and the Rams do whatever they did for 'hands up don't shoot'? Nothing but support. Players kneel for anthem in large segments? Issue a statement on 'freedom of speech.' Same player do an endzone dance they don't like? Fine him.

NFL doesnt give two craps about freedom of speech or anything else besides money, but they are starting to repel a large portion of their fanbase, and they are annoying a majority of those who are left. The anthem protest may go away, I personally don't think its over, the people doing it seem to enjoy getting a rise out of others, and want to continue to show thier rebellion to their loyal constituents. But the NFL has shown it will come down on the progressive side again when it comes to the next 'big protest.' The seed is already planted, they have to reap that crop.

The above could be taken either way.

"Buuuwwwwaaaaa!!!Yeah right. Where were your seats? You don't cancel tickets, they are already paid for for."

"Op doesn't even know enough to know this board officially has got exactly jack to do with the Jaguars yet comes here to make some sort of proclamation. Again..Buuuuwwwwaaaaaa."

"So 20 plus years they did things in a way that was acceptable to you and all of a sudden ONE thing you disagree with on one day and you're done? I call complete [BLEEP]. If it's not [BLEEP] it is clear you are not a rational person IMO."
