Did Bortles fumble twice or was he one of the refs? If so not sure why everyone is upset with him.
Quote:Keil gunner in the 1st round, spacecoastjag and his recruiting family like him

Gunner Kiel was a 3rd string QB on a bad U.C. team just a few weeks ago. Are you kidding me?

He had a few poorly thrown balls that could have been picked.

Wasn't an amazing day, but again, nothing drastic is coming this season. He was much better than the past several weeks this season though. This offense was looking fairly solid most of the time. That defense was no joke either. They showed statistics pregame about how they've been holding teams WELL below their PPG average the last several weeks.
Andrew luck was also picked off twice early today, but his teammates managed to make some plays to make up for it including our own Todman.

Meanwhile Blake is blamed because ivory drops a ball and the referees make a huge error and for not being perfect.

I'm with you.

Organization has been terrible, coaching staff is the worst in the league and it isn't close, AND we have players calling out fans. This place isn't a very happy place to be right now.
I'd get JimmyG

We don't need to trade up for anyone, but if we're in position to take a deserving top QB prospect in the draft next year then we should take him. If all it does is light a fire under Blake to work his rear end off in the off season and become a top 10 QB in this league it will be well worth it and it's not like it will be a waste of a pick as we could eventually trade the player if Bortles blossoms. That being said, we're probably not going to end up with the 1st or 2nd pick. It seems pretty likely that the Browns and 49ers will wind up with those two spots and they'll both be in the QB market. Hopefully a top Tackle prospect will be available when we pick or a top pass rusher.
Watson is gonna declare and hopefully Trubisky does too.  Anyone outside of these two is gonna need to sit on the bench for a year or two.  Not a big fan of Kizor, Kaaya, Kelly,

Mahonnes.

No more excuses saying "oh if we having a running game he will be better" 205 yards rushing and he still cant preform. time for a new QB

Yep no excuses at all. Cant believe all those fumbles Bortles had.

I mean he throws a perfect strike to Lee who is stopped short of the line and then ivory fumbles. No more excuses.
I mean, if there was a servicable free agent out there that could come in and take over for BB5, I'd be all for it.  But, I just don't think there is...

Besides, based on how GM Caldwell has held on to Gus Bradley long after his expiration date, what makes anyone honestly think he's gonna come off the BBINT experiment in a pro-active fashion.

I think we're stuck with BB5 for one more year.

Also, in a fit of rage this afternoon I considered making a "Start Henne" thread.  And while the idea of no longer having to witness  the abomination that is BB5's terrible throwing motion may be intriguing, I am reminded of how frustrating it is to watch Chad Henne check down on every play and get his ball batted back into his face on ever other play.

I think 2018 is when we make a real push for a QB change.  I wish there were some plausible solutions to BB5, but there just aren't any.  Help is not on the way and help will not be on it's way for a long time.

No one is paying Romo's absurd contract.

Watson is just too streaky. He gets hot and cold for long stretches and like Kizer, he relies a little too much on his athleticism, although not as much as Kizer. He needs to be more patient in the pocket. Too many times he doesn't see the open receiver. It's like he gets nervous and rushes his throws.

Why Henne? Why not start Allen and see what we have?
Remember when everyone said Tebow could not be fixed, that his windup was too long and slow, mechanics were awful? Bortles has that same slow delivery where he drops the ball down low with that inefficient motion, it's just the way he throw the ball, Leftwich did that too. I felt like Bortles at 3 was a reach when we did it. We could have had Khalil Mack at that spot.

I don't think this team is ready to do anything right now. We should build an offensive line and a defense. Look at the Cowboys and Prescott, that guy wasnt a high draft pick but he is playing behind the best o-line in football and they run the ball as good as anyone. Drafting a high QB letting him get sacked 50 times a year isn't going to fix anything. Fix the coach and fix the team, be patient on a qb.

I didn't think he has an awful game, he missed on that strike to Robinson deep but I would of liked to of seen more effort from

Robinson. And he did stare down his receiver for the int.

Apart from that he was solid I thought.

I honestly haven't even considered Allen.  I'm not sure that Gus would bypass Henne and move directly to Allen.  But that is another option.  Again, I just don't see Caldwell or Bradley coming so far off BB5 that they would go to their 3rd string QB.

But your suggestion is something to consider as a message board GM/HC.  I just don't see our actual GM and HC making the move off BB5 and skip right over Henne.

I personally don't know why Henne is still on this roster. We know what he is and it sucks. Just because he knows the playbook does not mean he's a good QB. Henne is to the QB position, what Gus Bradley is to the coaching position. It just makes no sense to keep him and bury the rookie on the depth chart.
Bortles had a bad game - again, it's evident when actually watching the game. He stares down receivers, runs out of the pocket too quickly and he is a very inaccurate passer. It feels like his wind up takes ages, some throws come out really wobbly and he can not fit balls into tight windows. He can make a 3 yard out route look very difficult. None of this is new and it's not new because it reappears time and time again. A constant running game threat will not fix his inaccuracies. The O-line blocks okay, the running game was doing well. New coaches? He has the third OC in as many years. He has talent because he can sling it. But one nice throw is followed by two, three inaccurate ones. That's not a long term solution at QB because it will take years to fix this - if it can be fixed st all. Years no franchise in the NFL can wait around for.
A play here, a play there, doth not make a QB

You control the ball, you orchestrate, you win

They don't attribute team wins to QBs by accident (NYC4Jags, a while back...)

The mistakes are not just mistakes, they are L plays.  Bortles' and of course the expected tisJag fumbles

The misses are an eyesore, the world sees em

The hits are a chore, we see em

Oh, the tisjags plays are tisJags, unfathomable.  I get that

Poor QB tried his hardest, he ran, he battled, but he never was in control

Some of those balls.  We all saw em.  Like directly to red.  If they could catch...

At least Gipson was generous enough to aid in defense of red's QB.  Sound aware play FS

Team wide debacle, I get it, but when some say he improved today

It tells me all I need to know about the state of our dearest most deplorable Jaguars
