I agree!! What has he done lately?  Oh wait, 122 and a touchdown last game. Great post!

It was against the Colts though.
Colts gave the Bengals a run for their money last week

They have no business being in the league! The team made the right move! Suck it up and move on.

He has to look himself in the mirror and say, “I hurt the team.”

That’s what makes the punishment effective.

A fine?  Are you kidding me?  That would mean nothing.

I’ll tell you something else this accomplishes.   It tells the rest of the team we are serious .   We are not playing around here.   Get your head on straight.

Which is why on paper we should absolutely destroy them. Some back to back consistency out of this team would go a long ways.
I wonder if a player misses a real practice if they would be executed on the spot?

Remember, culture.

Those are serious things. He should be punished more. I mean, how many times has he already done this and gotten away with it. Hes obviously a repeat offender and a cancer to the locker room. Should be 6 games minimum, remember "the culture" is what its all about. Cant have a fun party like ol Gus would do.

Please stop. You sound like a petulant 5-year-old.

This has Coughlin written all over it. I knew that crotchety old fart would screw this team over in some way.

Keep reading. It was much more than just a missed photo.

Everybody says we need more discipline. We need more accountability. Then when we set some rules and enforce them everybody’s going OH NO not today! Not this player!

If you are going to set rules then the first time you don’t enforce them you are lost.

You have been deactivated for this reply.
I'll be one of the few but if he did miss a meeting as well as the other things, I have zero problem with this. Sends a message to the whole team. I like how some people say certain things but will be right back here rooting the team on if they win lol.

He deserves to be fined, not deactivated. All this does is punish the rest of the team. This looked to be a sure win. Now, who knows?
Team rules are Team rules. This organization under Coughlin/Marrone do not include "ifs" "ands" or "buts". Whatever action Fournette took regarding the team is to assume said responsibility. What "if" Leonard had a reason that wasn't harmful and perhaps dealt with his family? Doesn't matter. You need to inform the team before you take such action, and they may provide you leniency..but of course that's pure speculation. Do you think your boss would accept you not coming in and not informing them about why prior to that? No, and you would be disciplined or worse, fired for it. I'm glad Coughlin is taking this approach. Unlike Gus, Marrone/Coughlin won't let either unforeseen circumstances or selfish actions walk all over their vision/mindset for their team.

Just think about how much better our team plays? Yeah sure, we've increased our team talent since last year. But the team staff is trying to unify the players with a hard-nosed/"get the job done"/"aim for the win" attitude. Letting exceptions leak through provides the opportunity for laziness or trouble to arise. BB doesn't deal with nonsense up in New England, and look how that organization has turned out. If you enjoy winning, then think about how we're getting there. We're getting there with a staff that gets the most out of it's players through accountability. This is good for the long term. Lest we be reminded that Coughlin has taken the Jags to their only 2 AFC championships...along with two NYG SB's with his method.
We're gonna intercept Queens of the Stone Age at least three times.

This is a stupid move you're intitled to disagree but this hurts the whole team not just Fournette.

Wrong. Fournette hurt the team by not following the rules. And if the team doesn't make it to post season because of this, there are bigger problems to be dealt with.
Discipline is great and I understand the need for rules, but if we end up losing a close one, it will be a tough one for Coughlin to sell to the fans.

Especially in this “win today” environment.

Also what is so serious that it warrants being dropped (rather than a fine) but doesn’t bring the player to the interest of the NFL?

I hope this isn’t Coughlin over-reacting.
Nice to see the organization went all out for Forever Teal. All those empty seats will make the teal really visible.

We went from 0 to 60. How about some middle ground without punishing the entire team. Fining him would take money out of his checkbook. Deactivating him means we just made the game much, much harder to win, because we eliminated our only offensive weapon.
Well that sucks.

This. I guess some people think a fine isn't really a punishment because they get paid so much, but rooks don't make as much as they used to and a lot of these players spend a ton of money.

What has he done his entire career before that game? Absolutely nothing.
