You are comparing Bortles to Tebow?  lol

Please don't compare him to Favre.  Favre at least threw accurately and threw touchdowns in the first quarter occasionally.  Until Bortles proves it on the field, you're always going to be wrong.  Your argument that he is a good quarterback is by bringing up the defensive numbers.  It's the most asinine thing imaginable.

Quote:lol "improving to 60% now"

wow, what an improvement!  I guess passing the ball to TJ Yeldon 10x in one game sure does wonders to your completion percentage!

\

Again, you're not a scout and most on this board don't know the difference between CHECKDOWN artists and DOWN THE FIELD GUNSLINGERS.

Most Jags fans think David Garrard is better than Bortles because of low INTs and higher completition percentage. That's not the case.

Garrard throws for 2100 yards a season and Bortles 4400 yards.

Andrew Luck has a CAREER COMPLETION PERCENTAGE of 58.8% because he takes shots down the field like Bortles does.

Most on this board would rather have a 67-68% completing checkdown artist like Dak Prescott because they aren't scouts.

Dak is good because his defense is top 5 and his o line and running game are #1.

There are some clowns on this board who think Dak Prescott is better than Andrew Luck.

This dude is worse than bklynjag
I'm beginning to think it is actually TMD.

call me when Bortles throws a few TDs in the 1st quarter will ya
TMD doesn't write like this guy...so I don't think so.

spacegoatjag has not mention YPA yet, so I doubt it's TMD.

Yes. They are unfortunately two completely separate morons.
Considering how bad his confidence and mechanics have been that 60% completion is actually kind of impressive haha

Bortles' completion percentage is better this year than it has been in the past precisely for this reason.  He is checking down and throwing short passes a lot more than he has in the past.  It has nothing to do with him being better and "improving his percentage to nearly 60"...

when you throw the ball to your running back 10 times, that will happen

and YPA is not in Bortles' favor so he isn't going to bring up that.

He should though, since rate stats are far superior than his overall stat crap that doesn't put an ounce of context into anything.

Any PER stat hurts Blake while helping the defensive image though, so he'll never do it.

That's a pretty embarrassing assumption from someone when Bortles had 43 passing attempts last game with Yeldon 1 catch for 4 yards.

Nice try there amateur. The people on this board like you who still think the Jags defense is "good" without looking at statistics because they have "names" like Ramsey and Jack.

The bulk of his throws are downfield though.

31 of Bortles 290 throws have been targeted for Yeldon with 15 of those 31 coming in the first 2 games.
Also, there is a gigantic difference between "had him #1 on their QB board" and "wanted him".

Did you read the article from the respected insider? Was a done deal to Pats IF he was there.

<p class="">The <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/hashtag/Patriots?src=hash'>#Patriots</a> would've drafted QB Blake Bortles in the first round had he fall to them there, per <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/RapSheet'>@RapSheet</a>

the bulk of his throws are not downfield.

he is taking many fewer shots downfield.  In fact last year he threw the ball quite a lot downfield, whereas this year he has not.

This is why his completion percentage is a little higher.

lol well they were picking like 30th.... that's where he should've gotten picked.  he was a project.  He needed 3 years of riding on the bench and humbly working on his mechanics each year before coming out there and looking like he has been looking.  I've seen prettier punts than his throws.
