QB coach in Jacksonville

The best Hackett can hope for is to get Bortles and the offensive to show improvement for the remainder of this year. This will enable him to get another decent coaching job next year since the new head coach will undoubtably bring in a new O.C.

Yes, but never offered him the job.

While verbiage won't change for #Jaguarsoffense, Hackett believes in playing with more speed, tempo. That should help Bortles.

This is good news. Bortles always plays better in a hurry up type offense during garbage time. Maybe if we hurry things up by playing the entire game with a faster tempo, Bortles can train his mind to believing the entire game is garbage time and he gets back to where he was last year.

Bortles will get him fired too

I'm interested to see the effect this has on Bortles. While I don't expect a turnaround like Buffalo had, I would wager we break our opening drive TD drought next week

It worked in Buffalo, so let's see

So Gus has survived the worst record in NFL history, fired 2 OCs and 1 DC. Who does he have pictures of? Lol

There is a critical; difference in Buffalo. The Bills have a worse QB and better RB so they improved by running more.

Tyrod Taylor is pretty damn good.

Tyrod Taylor is not the answer in Buffalo and the team knows it.

Tyrod Taylor is playing a LOT better than our QB this season.
To comment on "fast tempo" of our new coordinator...
I have extreme caution with this.
As with offenses in our past, faster to 3 and out is faster to 3 and out.
It digs holes deeper and faster if you aren't converting.

Knows it enough to give him a $92 million extension two months ago.

They just gave him like a 6 year extension and he's averaging a mid 90s QB rating. He's the best QB they've had there since Kelly at this point. I think they're pretty happy with him.

If we're being honest, the holes can't really get any deeper than they are now, so it's worth a shot.

He's good enough to win.
He's good enough to win games top 15 qb

He's got a national Toyota commercial, too.
I guess there's hope for Blake if Glenn's Liquors ever decides to do a local spot.

Hopefully by faster tempo, they mean getting the play called and to the line of scrimmage faster.
I don't care if they wait until there is only one second on the play clock to snap it, but they need to start getting to the line of scrimmage quicker (preferably with around 15 seconds left).
We seem to barely get the plays off in time now, like we are on the verge of delay of game penalties constantly.
Getting to the LOS quicker would have several benefits for the offense. One, you would be able to potentially catch the defense with 12 men more often/prevent them from substituting. Two, Blake would be able to use the hard count more often which would draw the defense off sides more. Third, it would allow Blake more time to make any audibles/OL adjustments to better take advantage of the defense.

Doing what we're currently doing isn't working. If it helps Bortles play better, why not? The season is all but a wash as it is. At least put your once franchise QB in the best position for the next 9 games to see if you'll be looking to draft a new one.
