Quote:I caught that too. Could have just been the way he phrased it, but it seems pretty easy to read between the lines there and figure Hackett may have not been thrilled with what he was coaching Blake.

Yup. That's how I took it as well.

I think it's as simple as Olsen had a game plan and a style of play that he needed Blake to latch on to. Hackett was there to get Blake to mold into that offense.

Should be the other way around. They should be molding the offense based on Blake's style. But maybe Hackett is the answer for that.

But we threw downfield last season (Olsen's 1st year).   We had a very conservative mentality this season.

Personally, I think Gus shortened the offensive gameplan and Olsen is the scapegoat.

I think you're giving Gus too much credit.

That is funny

I tried, but his gasping for breath thing made me nervous.
Then ya missed a very determined coach to right the ship.

This is what I kept asking everyone here: Why did Greg Olson change the game plan knowing what works with mostly the same players? It still does not make sense Other teams can keep on doing what they have done for years and don't waste time changing up the offensive scheme after finding success with it.

He didn't.  It is more of many teams studied hurns and robinson more.  So what worked last year was no longer an advantage for them.  Also the line changed drastically so had to change stuff there as well.

Add in the fact the quality of teams we have played is much different too.

I'm wondering if Yeldon gets more plays now. Run n pass. Primarily more pass; hopefully.
